  2. 4:51 Don’t think I’ve even seen a bumblebee without the yellow on its back. They’re very friendly. I often lightly stroke their backs as they’re enjoying my flowers. They’re unbothered by me.

  3. Love this video! I was thinking, as you were talking about the succession planting that I need to be more mindful about my succession planting. And then I thought ‘I wonder if she has a template or a pattern we can follow?’’ And then you seemed to answer my question by showing the raised bed garden book, which I actually have! I guess I forgot that inside is the pattern! I have a scarlet runner bean plant right now growing on each side of my trellis that I put up this past spring.

  4. Beans are beautiful and tasty. Love the idea of them along our back fence. I planted some around our coverd patio were all the roof supports are.

  5. I'm experimenting with Red Noodle beans this year. Next year, I'll either grow Gold Rush, or go back to Blue Lake. Four foot of cattle pannel space is all that is needed to grow as many pole beans as I need. Once Pole Beans start producing, they produce until fall. Some of my slicer tomatoes are starting to blush, so tomatoes any day. Now I'll have tomatoes to go with my cucumbers. I'm having to eat three each day to keep up with them, and production is increasing.

  6. Great video Kim & Jerry! You have me talked into trying that scarlet runner bean. Need to check my “seed stash” to see if I have any … if not – shopping I must go!

  7. I have your burgundy bush beans in a smart pot and they are doing great! I just harvested some and they are delicious!! Thank you for introducing me to this variety.

  8. Rattlesnake beans are my favorite. I succession plant them. At the end of the season I let them dry up and I harvest the seeds for next year. Been doing that for years. Thanks for a great video.

  9. Hi akim. I agree with needing space for runner beans, but if you only have a balcony, only grow about two in 50 liter pot. I've done this a few times and wow, great Scarlett runner beans. Nice video.

  10. Are scarlet runner beans stringless? In years past we grew Yellow Wax pole beans and Oregon Giant beans in our home garden. I had to search for them this year. I had to order the yellows from back East. Oregon Giants seem to be a thing of the past, so I got some Rattlesnake beans. They look the same. This year I will follow your tips–trim off the excess growth, and succesion plant. Our growing season here in Seattle is from June 1st to October 1st, The the dreaded monsoon season.

  11. We've had good success with bush beans here, but this year we're trying a climbing(?) bean for a long bean. We're trying both this year. Fingers crossed!
