Plant Propagation

plant in soil?

I’ve never water propagated before and this guy is doing great! Should I move it to soil or wait? And also any tips on how to make the move to soil successful? The leaves on the cutting are still nice and green so maybe I can wait longer since it doesnt seem to be struggling in the water?

It’s ready. I wait until these roots are about 2” long, and then I plant them. Keep the soil slightly damp, not soggy or waterlogged, for about 1-2 weeks while it adjusts from water to soil, then begin watering once the top 1/2”-1” is dry. When you transfer this to soil, you want a smaller pot, as one that’s too large will hold onto too much water for too long and could eventually rot the roots. If you only have this one cutting, go for a pot the same diameter as the jar it’s growing in. Maybe 1” wider max. You’ll up-pot it later once it matures and grows.
