I prefer a glass jar with a glass lid to allow top down light. It may be nice as a resurrection jar, but imo I don’t like the bumps on the glass to do anything but attempt plant propagation for another setup.

Ideally, I would do something that creates a centerpiece right in that oval. It’s gonna be the only part you can see into clearly on a regular basis. So I think the question isn’t so much of what to put in as it is *where* to place it all.
It also could look really cool when little critters come up against the glass. The bubbled shape of all the texture could magnify whatever presses up against it.
