♻️Happy gardening to all my viewers and subscribers.

oh welcome back my gardening friends well they said we’re going to get a little bit of rain and bar gum didn’t it come I would imagine we’ve had uh at least an inch of rain 25 mil or more that’s overflowing my poor beetroots well my celery doesn’t need water in oh my poor sweet corn absolutely drowning I’ll sort that out in a minute I don’t want to flood this bed I’ve managed to move all my potatoes from plot three to plot one here are the uh Spider farmer grow bags with the rocket Charlotte and uh Swift didn’t realize they’re all different potatoes but they’re going well and we’ve got the flow on uh this one here Charlotte always seems to come a little bit earlier but we’ll leave them a bit longer before we Harvest them and as you can see I’ve got to drain those off now in the summer when it’s really hot we can water from the bottom but we aren’t getting the Summers like we used to do the Swift there with super soil uh Swift uh with nothing added so basically it’s just the compost and you can see the uh brownness of the water or you might be able to going to have to take these out I think worms and all sorts in there bless them but all the goodness is running out I didn’t really want that I’m going to have to drain all those maybe put it onto the beds with the celery so we don’t waste any of those nutrients that we got from our homemade compost I’ve cleared these four beds of the strawberries the strawberries weren’t growing very well Roots weren’t brilliant just pull the tops off the Tulips some of the bulbs came out but I’ll be emptying these beds completely sifting the soil adding more nutrients and these uh be beds uh for something else next year got plenty of strawberry these are the giant sunflowers that I’d like to uh take a large head for my granddaughter to the uh mulvin Autumn giant vegetable championships that needs doing and I thought this would be quite a decent support for those big long thick stems he says hopefully quite annoyed with myself because I didn’t clear up all my rubbish I cut the corner and got my big fat bomb caught on the tap which has either loosened it or uh broken it I’ve about to empty this sorry I’ve about to empty it into this and because it was leaking into this water tank I had to slice the pipe there so it didn’t siphon any of the liquid manure runoff into the rest of the barrels and contaminating the water which could have made it uh go uh bad deep breath but what a difference a drop of rain makes to our uh carrots and the weeds they look nice the greenhouse is all planted up this is the gravity fed Wick guttering system there’s a little floating there and some guttering the wick sit in the gutters draw up the moisture and some of these are shb seed and most of them are my save seed that we slice up and uh if you want to stop any damping off on your uh cucumbers gourds anything like that I put the top to just cut the top out of a big pot and then just water around and that stops any water from getting to the Cucumbers this is especially good in the poly tunnel where we haven’t got the uh Wick guttering system and here’s the ones that we sliced up as you can see they’re a lot further forward cuz I seed the others a little bit later just got to be diligent now and take any side shoots out but happy with those they look nice and fresh dear me plenty of material in the compost spin save absolutely everything now get it in there it’s got to be better to than paying for compost as he Dives for cover as it starts to rain again as you can see here mind you it looks like the rain’s been coming in but hopefully it won’t uh get those damped off cucumbers in here are looking nice I tried Crimson Crush for the first time and again some more of my saved seed my leggy tomatoes are now getting even leggier do a reveal on those very soon and I’m glad I’ve covered this with com uh cardboard it just helps retain the moisture and stop the weeds where we can the strawber we put into the poly tunnel I don’t know whether there’s some bad manure in there but they uh they haven’t done very well well watered Etc maybe too well watered perhaps they didn’t like all the compost Etc but the platform that they were sitting on is an excellent place to put some of my Surplus well I say Surplus we’ve got cabbages there we’ve got to plant uh Surplus Tomatoes we’ll sort those out I’ve bought up my uh chitting sweet corn I lost all my sweet corn first time round so I chitted them and as you’ve seen they’re absolutely Dred on the other plot and I’ve got some spares there glad I’ve kept the spares and we’ve got some other beat rout there that we need to to plant I want to get the oh come on where’s the label I’ll remember it in a minute the silver skin onions the pickling onions I’ll get those planted if I can some more spring onions there we’ve got plenty of room for some lettuce and that can be placed in front of the tomatoes I don’t want any trailing Tomatoes there because I’ve got nowhere to walk on either side I do like to have as much growing space as I can can I planted some more Oregon sugar snap saved uh seed here Thompson and Morgan and I’ve placed some mint on top of them to stop or hopefully stop the mice from finding them you can always tell if the mice have been there if the ground’s been Disturbed there’s a little crack forming there so hopefully they’re coming through we’ll just move these away from another successional sewing of uh radish they’ve literally popped up in the last uh 24 hours and uh my first radish harvest the other day went really well and salad Harvest I had a lovely uh prawn cocktail it won’t be long before these are coming out and hopefully they’ll be ready before I run out I’ve thinned out the pongos took out the weakest and just spread them out here and there and I’ve transplanted these three here and those four and they look like they’re uh doing a good job for me and I’ve managed to get the Iron Man Cali out I’ve added some hydrated lime it’s stronger than your garden lime to help with any club rout and I did encircle the brassicas with some of the hydrated lime to discourage uh the Slugs they definitely don’t like uh crawling on Lime it’s BN to burn them as well as it as you know it burns our skin if we get it on our hands slug hasn’t gone far what’s up Mr slug don’t you like Li him so we’ll be doing a little video on how I try and help to stop slugs get into some of my plants certainly doesn’t stop the pigeons the only way you’re going to stop the pigeons is by netting uh even if you just net across the top so they can’t uh fly in and uh spinning bottles also helps as long as you’ve got uh got wind not us personally but obviously in the sky all that rain has uh made everything grow nicely probably got too much but plenty of room in with compost bin well or have I well this is me carrot bed I’ve still got go no carrots in but I’ve got lots of uh weeds will I get time to plant some carrots I’ve got other priorities let’s get the silver skin onions in first so I’ve leveled the uh bed out with this bit of wood cuz my uh floating Trail is at home just put this here for now but to uh to get these uh out easily he says drop them in there nice cold water and that was just as quick as uh it could be didn’t want to leave them in too much longer not sure how much more time I can spend up here we’ll get R of that water put all the soil in in the beds then we can just gently you can trim the roots but uh we’ll just uh put them in not too much flat in about we’ll crack on with this so all text time well they’re all in I’ve managed to find my old label from last year I haven’t dated it you see so I can reuse that and the eding 750 marker pen still uh going strong 126 and A2 no 126 and there my spares did that last year and I had wanted to fail because they didn’t like it but soaking them in the water saves you damaging them stems and that’s the Surplus probably the same again there really but uh they’ll make good compost again I found last year’s label uh only out of 20 of these seeds they weren’t exactly old seeds but they were seeds that uh I had sent me I’ve managed to get two I only really need one if you haven’t get if they do damp off or anything like that then you’ve always got uh more than enough and after all that Heavy Rain the lettuces uh in this bed are uh looking good um you see the uh the amount of soil that gets splashed up the sides the spring onions in between they’re loving it as well no slug damage as far as I can see Tom will tell so what else can I plant this morning before I go to work so I’ve got two beds for the brassicas and we’ve got some there bro yeah bro F1 uh we’ve got some grayan cabbage with a volunteer tomato the red cabbage calibos Nero Toscano Kyle and uh the uh green magic uh broccoli so these seeds were all the last that I’ve got old seed Etc I just planted them in those pots and they’re about ready to go out and with the ground being nice and wet they’ll absolutely love it so we on to the brassas the and these are the uh Nero dsco I’ve again wash the roots out a little bit I only want four plants so I just want to make sure I’ll get plenty of root will remove the uh lower leaves and we’ll uh we’ll plant to there that’ll give it plenty of uh stability just going to put my gloves on and apply some hydrated lime it’s a lot wider whiter than your order line and now just a small sprinkle blood fishing board I don’t like to overdo it I want it to last as long as I can horn then want the planted depth around there they need to be firmed in really well they will get supported but that’s all I do and then of of course afterwards we met the Ring of Death if you get in you won’t get back out Mr Slug and to protect them while they’re young from the pigeons I will stick the uh old Street Lamp covers you can have them either way as you can see up there i’ about to go up and down because they won’t go far wide in One Direction well I’ve run out of time but at least everything is protected until I get the blue piping over it and the net on if you’ve liked the content give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down please leave me a comment join in with the comments read the comments we learn so much from the comments and and why not consider subscribing happy gardening to 1. Can I just ask, if I plant grafted tomatoes below the graft will it make a difference to the plant?
    Thank you

  2. sometimes we gardeners can be contradictory, me included. i plant my cucumbers on a mound.it does the same thing as yout plant pot ring. later in the season, when it's overcast, i spray the wholw plant with water, to prevent red spider mite. lol………………..brian

  3. I feel for you on the rain front it just never seems to stop 😢 here too. It’s been cold and wet for days. Great idea I do that with my dahlias and peonies for a different reason but it’s a great isolator. Thoughts and prayers for Mrs K and yourself ❤️‍🩹, Ali 🌧️🌧️🥶🇨🇦

  4. I think your doing amazing there Terry you never stop despite helping support/care for Mrs K and the pup. I’ll wish for sunshine from now on. Cheers from a rather wet Tasmania

  5. 🥰 Before I retired I'd get as much done in the mornings before work as possible. I didn't start until 11am.
Now I'm lucky if I get at by 11am LOL.

  6. Nice productive time at the plot, everything's looking great. Have just added prawns to my shopping list, a retro prawn cocktail for me tomorrow night but just with good old iceberg lettuce.

  7. Hi Terry, you are always so inventive at ways to thwart mice, slugs and disease. Your compost pile looks pretty full already — how do you turn it?
    ~ Sandra

  8. Great that you've labeled all your plants 👍 I lost track of my cucumber and pumpkin seedlings they look all the same. I thought that I could distinguish them easier when I see the leaves 😂

  9. Hi Terry, the weather has been awful. All your plants are looking really good. Lovely update. Hope Mrs K is doing well & remember to look after yourself too. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊

  10. Hi Terry, great video again, I always learn something when I watch your videos. I can’t wait for the slug and snail video as my plot is being decimated by the little sods. They’ve even got some of my potatoes. Slowing losing the will to carry on.

  11. Hi Terry. Great video, thank you. I was wondering if yoi could help me please? I have spider mite on my aubergines- what would be the best way to get rid of them, please? Thank you. Love your street light covers, where do you get them from? Happy gardening and best wishes and love to Sandra 🙂
