means like North County or something or um and if so I’d bring some posters and sign some stuff and okay Mr Mustard says hey Scott I have a question about your car is the wheel on a release system where you can take it on and off it’s a tiltaway steering um it actually just when it’s it’s got It’s vacuum actuated but when the door opens the wheel tilts away and so when I get into the car I have to bring it back and lock it into place but it’s it’s it’s like one of those convenience things that they did in the 60s um let’s see good afternoon from South Africa good afternoon book lover wants we’re working I’m working on the script and Donna’s working on getting us out to well we’re funded but to get us out to you know Spain and doing all that stuff and then we’re for our second film our next film yeah we did not really have any plans of doing a sequel I I don’t write stuff for sequels but it’s kind of the lwh hanging fruit for the um investors the investors in the studios and whatnot and the film did it’s still doing really well on on Netflix yeah so yeah which is great people are still watching which is really nice if you haven’t seen it animal crackers on Netflix um this is really pretty it makes me want to make a similar piece for a bookmark well you can grab the line work on the website yeah um shiny hair is a good thing haven’t you seen those Pantene commercials oh talented water is what I recommend but I I I’m not really much of a an acrylic painter maybe Bethany has some suggestions yeah she just did an acrylic piece she’s doing a couple of pieces um on from [Music] Canada so I mean this is so much detail that I did not have to put in but um what the heck right what the heck it’s a practice piece put in the details see if you like it Anonymous wolf fale says hi greetings from Poland have you seen any adult animations like boj Jack Horseman do you guys agree that animation should not be called a genre um I have not seen that particularly me either um but um yeah I think animation is I animation is a technique you know a style of Storytelling um but I I I just don’t see the industry changing to in any way acknowledge that it is [Music] um the same or equal to traditional film making I I just I just don’t think that’s going to happen it’s you know know um it’s a different animal you know speaking as a director of Animation you know I don’t have to deal with um the same things that a liveaction film does but I don’t think that should in any way separate um the acknowledgement of of the work that goes into it I think more work goes into animation than live action it certainly takes a lot longer that’s for sure I I don’t understand uh what the what what would be the reason for not calling it a genre I don’t understand that I I think um in general there are um it’s it’s it’s like uh people consider animation for kids okay and so it’s a genre like um comedy okay and so it it never really gets judged on the same playing field as traditional movies and there are a lot of um fans of animation and people in the industry who want it to be considered an art form at the same level of The Godfather or Citizen Cane or something like that and and I think that’s valid um not really my um not the hill I’m going to die on okay you know because I for me I’m I was just curious I didn’t I’m very happy just making kids animated stuff but um i’ support people who want to do that well I’ve seen and been around all the animation and I know how hard it is yeah to animate things and I know how hard it is to make things look as beautiful as they do when you see really really good animation you know but when you pair that animation with a really really good story I personally for me I think that can be as moving if not more moving than a liveaction movie yeah it’s done right exactly that’s what I’m saying like if you really good animation with a really good story I think that that in and of itself deserves yeah the problem is is that people I think I think it’s twofold I think from the audience point of view people still see animation as being for kids yeah but from the um film Creator point of view they still see um serious Cinema as having to have nudity and violence and and you know language and whatnot and they don’t see it as being something um that could be universally uh appreciated and uh I still think that Cinema and and film writers and directors like a Quinton Tarantino are still very [Music] um adolescent in their thinking of what good content is they think if I throw enough F bombs in there if I throw enough violence and nudity and and you know make it as shocking as possible that’s art and that’s not art is in the storytelling it’s not in the shock value well it takes a lot to be able to be a good Storyteller to be able to weave a tail is a a talent you know yeah and I think that’s where a lot of it falls flat for me yeah and and and people hide it with yeah all the other stuff yeah all the other stuff and you know it’s like they they um and I always feel bad for the the actors who have to perform the stuff that these Writers come up with you know it it it feels so I get secondhand embarrassment you know from the uh the things that they make them do um that add nothing to the story yeah isn’t animation a medium it it is it well it’s it’s I I think the medium is film you know is is is you know a movie uh animation is a technique of telling uh of of of making a movie at least in my from my from my point of view um I can make a movie with stop motion I can make a movie with uh black and white film I can make a movie with puppets um that’s the the medium is is film um the technique and how I make that movie is I think irrelevant to whether it’s it’s considered a film or not okay congrats to frogo on doing so well at your art Market hey that’s great sketchbooks that don’t bleed through two recommendations one is the B creative Sketchbook yep and the other one if you’re using markers it’s going to be the ohoooo Sketchbook yeah um we had a lot of comments I’m going to blow through some of these um good for you coyote Wildflower got through ART block renie got some new lining pens um hi from Florida hello Scott recommends a pencil and paper for beginner artists yeah just just draw if you’re globing draw a red panda is always going to be my go-to um do cheap tools affect your work um it depends on on what work you’re doing if you’re just sketching no if you are painting uh depends on the paint but sometimes yes sometimes no um you’ll see a lot of you’ll see me try a lot of cheap tools from Crayola to um you know stuff made in China uh on Amazon and um they do affect it but they don’t um keep you from making art they just um might have some limitations uh Mr Frog can you be a little more specific on your question because how you use them is just a really wide question give me something specific yes we do ship worldwide there are a few countries we are not allowed to ship to like uh Brazil or Russia for obvious political reasons we just can’t ship there um my name’s Anson it’s two hours from Midnight where I’m from so basically of people saying they love your work thank you um what do you think of pop art and do you prefer Warhol or lonstein oo um I don’t like pop art not really fan of either but and I know this is um uh an unpopular opinion but I prefer lonstein even though he stole all of the art just because I like the comic art like if I had to own one I’d rather own at least something thing that I would like and um I don’t like the fact that lonstein stole the uh the comic art uh panels but he had good taste in the panels that he stole okay um what size is that brush that you’re using right now uh this is a number one brush okay [Music] um let’s see so I was thinking of uh making a video where I read to you the first few pages of the animal crackers screenplay um would that be something that you guys would want to hear or see or um cuz what I want to do is I want to have you guys follow along with the production mhm I think that would be really really fun yeah we can’t show you everything but we want to do give you sneak peeks since you guys are like when we get into the studios with the actors obviously I’ll get permission from the actors but have you guys um be able to say hi to them and um for everybody who’s asking about art supplies like what are Scott specific supplies please look at the resources list yeah we I’ve put everything everything is up there yeah yeah um so there’s two lists there’s the art supplies that I use yep and then there’s the art suppli that I’ve tried along with videos of how it went what I thought of it um yeah Etc let’s see um have you watched any Indie cartoons or projects I None that come to mind oh Steph nerd’s here hey Steph hey Steph what was your favorite project to work on I’m sure you’ve answered this before but what got you first interested in making art I think those are two separate questions um what got me interested in making art was Spider-Man I I got a like a little compilation of Spider-Man comics when I was uh maybe seven or eight I used to watch the cartoon all the time and um so I think copying Spider-Man really made me kind of get into art um my favorite project I’ve worked on it’s probably the Dreamland Chronicles which is a web comic I did from 2006 to 2016 I think and um it’s my favorite story that I’ve ever told so I’m I’m looking forward to turning that into an animated series um let’s see my sister is an aspiring animator and filmmaker she always says that animation is something to be loved and enjoyed by all we simply all enjoy different pieces yeah you know I think it’s the same thing like um books everybody enjoys different kinds of books everybody enjoys different kinds of you know I don’t know art mediums and things like that I I think yeah um coyote Wildfire says I’m old and I love animation yeah and me both all right um kirani says hey Scott I’m planning to make a game and I’m trying to grow my following so that way the game can grow better I just wanted to ask how did you start your first video and any tips for new creators oh um well first of all congratulations I I hope it does really well um I I my first well you can go back and see my first video wasn’t that great uh but um you were not as animated as you are today yeah I mean honestly it it’s it’s you you have to look at it as if you are um give it a personal touch talk to people respond to comments um post every day uh and and and find your audience but really if someone were to see one of your videos um they’re going to see they’re going to go and look if they if they like what they see they’re going to want to go and uh see more and you should have a hundred other videos that they can go back through to kind of it’s like finding a TV show and finding that there’s only one episode you’re not going to you’re not going to get into it um you you want to you want to go and and binge it I guess is what I’m saying so produce a lot for future fans mhm um let’s see H everybody needs a Bethany um what’s your take on what’s your hot take on anime and do you watch any um I think anime is great I don’t watch any I haven’t watched any since I was younger I I grew up on Speed Racer and um starblazers and um Ryan says Warhol was a poser yeah I love you Ryan you’re so funny um what kind of brush should I use for watercolors um usually have watercolor brushes but I like the round brushes like this MH and what’s a good birthday present to get for my friend who’s an artist she mostly uses watercolor oh um a gift card to an art store would be nice [Music] yes yes we will definitely ship to India you need to make sure if we do ship to India a lot of times it will be held by your Postal Service and you will have to go down and pick it up so you need to make sure that you give us the 100% proper address and which we’ve had problems with with a lot of people so if you live in an apartment or you live in a house or you would make sure we have all the numbers of where you guys live because I have a lot of things that have come back and they are all listed we have names on the website if you haven’t received something yeah you don’t want to have to pay for shipping twice yeah shipping the first time in the United States is free but if it’s returned to us for any reason we’re going to have to charge you for if you’re shipping to India it’s going to be expensive and if you just don’t want it to come back yeah you don’t that’s just um okay what what’s the brand of brush that you’re using um well I’m using different brushes uh but so you’ll you’ll see me um going back and forth I’ll use uh the Cotman wisor Newton Cotman sets I think this one is a utre no this one’s the Princeton art brush these are just cheap ones that you can get at like Michaels um I’ll use whatever works he will indeed he’s not picky he just doesn’t want to clean them oh yeah no okay you they want to know what colors you’re using uh I am currently using a little a blend of uh doc Martin’s orange concentrated watercolor and and Alpine Rose mhm to get this really saturated reddish orange yeah for the hair um I just wanted it to to Really Pop Let’s see do you like disenchantment I’m assuming that’s a game um or something or it might be a TV show uh either way I don’t know it yeah uh rivy sent you a nice tip and says oh also the demo for tiny Glade is available from Thursday on Steam for anyone who wanted to try it oh yes that’s great yeah they had sent me a message and I was going to try to find time to do it but I just have not had the time um oh God what was the last anime that you watched last anime that I watched might have been Dragon Ball Z maybe in the 90s um yes we all have PTSD from when Scott spilled the orange paint um Scott has done animation a lot of Animation in the past um let’s see Scott does not like metallic anything watercolors paints pens do you name it he doesn’t like it um I’m not finished with it yet but the book I’m reading right now that I think is really good um let me get the name of it out here hold on a second in Praise of slowness um let me hit blow dryer okay hold on one second go ahead um yes we like Star Wars and Star Trek yeah Scott has no desire to do the one-on-one the mentoring or anything like that um that would be really really hard from him for him and um if you go on to the website you can see all the things he’s done in the past he did animation for Spider-Man and Power Rangers and video game animation and so he’s done a lot of Animation previously all right I am going to have this purple fade a bit so I’m going to make it a little darker towards the top do you have any tips on painting backgrounds I have trouble clearly distinguishing the background from for my subjects or the foreground especially when painting things in similar colors like a forest um yeah there’s uh if you look at the long the the video for the guild you’ll or or even the um the dragon and Centaur uh you’ll see that uh there’s a a couple of parts of the video where I talk about how there’s three things that you can do to make your characters stand in front um one is line weight so I use thinner lines for the background and thicker lines for the foreground you can kind of even see that a little bit here I was using a micron pen oh no I don’t think I did I just used a thinner tip uh for the for the background and that makes it feel farther away the other thing is um contrast you want more contrast in your characters and more background or and um less contrast for your or the most contrast for your characters and the least contrast for your background um that’ll make your make your eye go towards the characters and then the last one would be saturation you can have your background be a little less saturated and your characters be a little more saturated how do you draw so precisely and what happens if you make a mistake with watercolors oh there’s a video on that but uh uh I don’t draw precisely there are tons of mistakes here and tons of let’s see can you I I’ll I’ll try to hold it up a little closer but you can see where I’m going over the lines here you could also see that these lines are not straight these circles are are really off you see that they’re just they’re just it’s it’s embracing the um the wonkiness but it’s embracing the imperfection I think uh really let you be more comfortable with your art and that’s what I’m trying to do is just to try to be more comfortable with the the wonkiness of my art the the imperfections but don’t you think too when you tell yourself like you’ve been saying that this piece is a practice piece yeah and you’re playing around so you know it’s not going to be perfect does that help you yeah yeah I I’m not I’m not doing this for the sake of creating a gallery piece I’m doing this just for practice um Jake said I just got into my dream art school and I wanted to thank you for inspiring me that’s amazing congratulations conations that’s huge that is huge um I hope you have a wonderful time and you make lots of friends and you just you still have some friends from art school yeah still have my friends from art school he does indeed and they’re wonderful people um did you answer what happens if you make a mistake with watercolors I said I have a video for that ah how to fix mistakes watercolors this this person would like you to try drawing a manga panel um yeah they’re just throwing stuff out and seeing what sticks like spaghetti um let’s see my exams are starting in a week and I haven’t had any time to study and do art for the last few weeks any advice to make more time for art no get through your exams first get through the exams and then you can do as much art a temporary thing you’ll have all summer long to do that yeah do your exams and and then move on from there okay let’s see here blow drrive oh hold on hold on and then can you talk about um excuse me had a moment there you un me I did not unmute you but thank you for reminding me I had a little frog in my throat there um okay sirel asks says good evening Scott I’m so confused on how to paint skin tones when I paint the skin it is so warm because I use a lot of Reds oranges and yellows um can you give me some help yes there there are a couple videos on skin tones um there is one specifically in uh shorts and I think the mods might know where it is uh for watercolor and then there’s there’s other ones for markers and and other but those will probably be under videos but yeah it it’s I would I would just do a deep dive I do talk about skin t a lot mhm uh param says hi hello um let’s see um let’s see I don’t even know if you’d remember the last time you um watched anime I said it was the 9s yeah um how do you sell your art for people to buy we have a website yeah yeah and there’s a I did a video on I think pricing can you um can one of the mods can you guys put a link to the store in there and can you also put a link into the supplies that Scott’s Scott uses and the supplies that he’s tried for everybody since that seems to be a popular question today we pin stuff I thought maybe can’t we can’t pin it no MM not in a not in a live I thought pinning comments was a was something we could do you can on when it’s up there as a video but not during a live so like once it goes yeah no I I literally thought that there was an option to pin comments during a live not that I’m not that I’ve seen no wait no it says pin message but that allows us to pin somebody else’s message Mage yeah so if Bethany or somebody says here’s a bunch of links can we pin them to the top I don’t know maybe I don’t know all right um oh hey J robertin is here hey how you doing Scott regarding my question on erasers and skin issues I found soft gum erasers work great and they don’t lift ink maybe even better than needed cheers that’s fantastic there you go that’s great what are your favorite games on Steam um the only one I’ve really been able to get into um other than you know the U tiny Glade which I got to play which was great was uh enshrouded I really like that I played that with my son and um we’re just waiting for more updates do you recommend drawing the anatomy first or the faces first um I it depends are you just practicing you know you can do uh there’s the the one minute figure drawing uh practice which I did uh there’s a playlist for that that’s really helpful for getting to know how to draw people if you’re practicing faces and I’m practice faces uh I don’t think you should jump right into just I’m going to do a whole person uh like a finished piece if you’re practicing just practice practice people people uh you know like just the body shapes practice the um don’t go trying to make a a a full complete work of art just do little practice pieces so you can just go back and forth between portraits and uh figure drawing are you going to sell prints of this one I I don’t have any plans of it I mean it’s just a little sketch but um we’ll we see we’ll see how do you fill up your sketchbooks by drawing every day mhm you just just uh I if if it helps like if you don’t want to think of what to draw like you don’t want to have like a a travel journal or something that you draw something different every day then um do do a themed Journal like a lore of the Rings or Harry Potter or places or people or you know you’ll see me do that a l landcapes flowers animals um you cannot buy the bracelets he has because we bought those on vacation in specific places so they came from some place we have actually been so there’s no place to go and buy them there’s a video uh about the bracelets too yep or short sorry I got to keep yeah differentiate so they know where to look um do you think you would ever stream on the weekends I barely get a chance to watch these streams well coincidentally I will be streaming this Saturday morning with Kim Diaz home yep and I will be painting his nails before the he goes live with Kim so there you go um but typically yeah we don’t we take a little bit of time off um what’s your opinion on the idea that abstract artists aren’t real artists uh I I don’t I wouldn’t say they’re not real artists um I’m not a fan of abstract art but that doesn’t mean it’s not art um I think if something makes people happy and if it makes the artist happy and if it makes people who like abstract art happy then I think that’s fantastic you don’t have to like or even understand um different art uh you know like I I yeah you don’t have to like all art either yeah I mean but if somebody paints something or sculpts something or does something I don’t think it’s our job to put a to tell people what they’re doing is or isn’t yeah art I think it’s um up to them to say this is Art look what I’ve created this is my art yeah I think the only time that we have the responsibility to tell people it’s not art is when what they’re doing is purposely hurtful mhm or hateful yeah um how do I start practicing watercolor do you have any tips what should I practice first as a beginner um I I swatches are the best way to start just make little boxes and Swatch the colors um I would practice uh blending try wet on wet try wet on dry just get a Sketchbook a watercolor Sketchbook and just start filling it up nothing in particular some people um really like doing Landscapes other people really like doing um people or portraits all right so everybody has what makes them the most happy this is one of those times where the uniball signal is just going to refuse to work to work yeah look at that just not a single thing so all right they are a pickle sometimes yeah it I think it’s the bumpiness of the cold press it just doesn’t like you know what I got I just got a new Jelly Roll pen upstairs want me to go grab that you can try that I’ll try it okay let me go grab gra the jelly roll pen um answer I was just going to use gouache well let me go give you the jelly roll pen you can try that um do you enjoy listening to music while you draw yes and gra the jelly yeah I like listening to music um there is a playlist uh on my site of the music that I listen to and um I don’t get to do it very often anymore because every time I’m making art it’s usually live but um yeah I like listening to music do it pull the cap off and J made new clicker pens so you can try both of these here okay let’s try it jelly roll number one yeah one’s a clicker one’s another one um okay okay guys um nothing really jelly roll number two wow it’s working working working and then stopped of course because why not um okay guys why do I like red pandas have you seen red pandas are adorable um they’re so now I’m going to get um let’s [Music] see yeah Bethany’s like if we did that we’d have to pin five 50,000 messages to the top and I think you can only pin one message can you um the streamer can pin during a live let’s see I’m really scared of coloring my sketch I’m scared if I ruin it what do you do when this happens um you’re going to ruin it and you got to be just okay with it CU it was just practice if your sketch is so precious to you like it was such a good sketch which that happens right you get a really good sketch scan it in MH scan it in print it out on a piece of paper if you if you have a scanner otherwise take a photo of it or something but honestly you played pinball mhm I think this is too [Music] thick um let’s see it’s a how do you keep the big picture in mind when focusing on a small part of the painting um how do I keep the big picture in mind focus on a small part of the painting um I I I I don’t know I mean I think I I do the big picture stuff first and then I work towards the small stuff um when I was doing uh colored pencil I would just go everything was small stuff and because you really can’t do large bits of area cuz you’re just it’s just whatever the pencil tip is going to touch um so I like to now just do the larger stuff and and I think that just makes it more fun for me but it depending on the medium is really what’s what it’s going to do mhm um do you draw anything apart from humans oh yeah yeah I draw animals I draw um places I draw cars MH he draws just whatever’s whatever’s around I’ll draw it uh what color are you painting his nails I have no idea maybe we’ll do blue this week we’re going to take it off right after the live anyway he can’t stand having stuff on his nails so but they’re so lovely to paint you have the nicest nail beds H I’ve taken your advice to paint on both sides of the paper to heart and now I paint on both sides to prevent warped paper oh that’s great let’s see um do you have any OC’s I think that’s original characters uh yes yeah a tons um uh I talk about them sometimes but um you know I created a comic book called The Dreamland Chronicles so there’s a ton there um I had it I had one called oron the barbarian when I was a kid that’s the one you were painting when I met you yeah um let’s see um let’s see Scott do you have any favorite musicians that are also really good at other art mediums I know plenty of musicians who are painters and writers as well I don’t know I don’t know of of any particular musics that also do art I hadn’t I haven’t really looked into that yeah I don’t either is drawing hair still your favorite thing to draw yeah okay I I have a question I just got a new set of watercolor paint brushes and the tips on some of them are sealed is that normal yeah like they’re kind of glued yeah just run it through you know like put it in the water and just kind of mix it around it’ll it’ll kind of come about nixia off with the signos head I know right into the trash you go are you using Scotch tape to this is a watercolor block this is an arches cold press watercolor block so the pages are glued down to each other so there is no tape holding this down it’s just a blck um do you like bees I’m sorry do you like bees um I like the one Bethany paints them other than that no not really a fan um no all thanks pyam that’s very sweet all right because it’s only what time is it uh 9:55 Pam says Donnie you are so nice like every day to get up to have horrible in red nails though last time we did gray we did a nice gray that looked like a Pain’s gray I think that was the most um mellow color for you what do you think is the best way to make money as an artist uh don’t be an artist followed by with the pricing of your art how do you work that one out oh there’s a video there’s a short on that but um I do an hourly rate and what’s your opinion on AI art it’s not art it’s just something that some algorithm spit out it’s not art blow Dr oh hold on let me mute okay go ahead yes um yeah I guess I they’re like didn’t do anything fun pinball and painting of Florence um uh what are you looking for Michael as far as drawing faces give me a specific question tips doesn’t help me let’s see is it better to draw a single part on the human body or Draw the whole human body or the human body as a whole for anatomy practice oh uh I there’s a short for um one minute figure drawing and I think that is the best practice there’s sorry there’s a playlist with uh five five uh shorts I would 100% look to something like that whoa LS is asking hey Scott what’s the best way to digitize my artwork I have have painting SL drawings as big as 3T by 5T and as small as 3x 3 in 3T by 5T is huge yeah for the small ones scanning um I have an Epson scanner I I recommend just getting a scanner for the large ones and I think Bethany could help you with that but it would be um uh photography I think though there are places like we have a place called um chromatics that has a large flat bed scanner MH um if you’re up for spending $100 to yeah they charge for that you know just to have it scanned um but they do a they do a print quality scan like you could scan it yeah they did that for my for my poster yeah yeah they’re phenomenal they do charge for it though but 3et by 5T wow that’s a big painting have you drawn mythology or unreal stuff yes um he just did the guild and Drew a dragon yeah but like we did um uh Greek gods last time well also Gothic vampire yeah um let’s see okay so this is just noodling 101 this is just this is just uh going in and and adding a little bit more and a little bit more um for the sake of fun Diego would like to know what’s your favorite piece that you’ve done um right now I’ll say the guild MH but that changes daily which is why you’ll never see me with a tattoo oh yeah you and your I can’t decide committing yeah I’m surprised you committed to me for all this time um what’s the longest art slump you’ve had 10 years I did not make art for 10 years well I didn’t make traditional art for 10 years yeah what do you do in your free time aside from art uh I play video games and I and I I walk around my front yard noodling on paper or noodling in his brain one of the two um [Music] [Music] okay um black is a bit too noticeable I thought it would be more masculine but instead it just brought too much attention to my hands I love black nail polish um let’s see there is a video Darkness I have these nail polishes that dry in like a minute so I don’t think a splatter project for his Nails would work um let’s see um let’s see um where are we have you ever sold your pieces not in Prints but the actual pieces that you did yeah we actually have Originals yeah uh up on the site I don’t usually sell the the the like really big ones but I try to put affordable you know like as affordable as possible pieces on on the site yeah wow um this Michael says my mother is an artist her biggest painting was about 6 feet to 7 feet how do you even see Bethany paints large like that and well I mean funny story about bethan she’s literally like 5T tall so her painting something that’s like 7t tall cracks me up but I don’t understand how you like how much paint do you need for a 7 foot canvas you know that’s a lot of [Music] paint is Art your full-time job I think so currently I mean uh not for very long because we’re gonna be making movies again but yeah have you ever tried Japanese food some texture um you Rose are going to find out how he does small details without having it smudge while he does those right now um yeah um watercolor doesn’t smudge uh once it’s dry so I would say um what markers does Scott use um I have oh hooo markers though um that I just got it because they gave it to me uh I I would get the uh art beak if you’re on a budget but oh are great our beaks are on Amazon right that’s where we yeah um oh boy um I don’t know if you can answer this question but let’s go for it um shikuan asks whenever I make a sketch and I blend the pencil lines the light shines on it and it makes it shiny any tips on how to make it not shiny no I mean there there are sprays like a workable fixatives you can see if you can get like a matte spray but that’s one of the reasons why I really don’t like graphite pencils um I just I don’t like the feel and I don’t like the shininess of it Mythic Phoenix say I would argue that making a movie is a form of art yeah yeah of course of course and and um but when you’re writing and directing uh again still in art you don’t feel like you’re making art the same way that I’m doing right now have you ever thought of a drawing in your head but it looks different when you actually draw it every single time it’s never going to look just like you you you see it you know it’s just it just is what it is but yeah Scott do you have have to find inspiration to make art I usually refer to music for motivation because it creates almost like a sound environment in my mind without motivation I find it hard to draw um no you don’t need inspiration to make art you could just make art just to make art you can just draw just to draw um you can Journal um you can do whatever you wanted to do but was that your back yeah but uh it’s just art is the creation of something where there was nothing mhm that’s art you know and you don’t need inspiration to do that you could just be sitting at a coffee shop with a Sketchbook and drawing the people around you you didn’t need inspiration you’re just drawing the world around you and a lot of times that is Art what if they feel like they need that inspiration there’s nothing wrong with it no there’s nothing there’s there’s I have videos on finding inspiration or what to do when you don’t have inspiration and you’ll see a CLE and and if that helps you all right I think we are done I don’t think I can noodle this anymore okay well Debbie asks have you ever dealt with hand pain or fatigue they’re experiencing it and they’re a bit worried yes I I got into a motorcycle accident and I hurt my drawing hand and um and for a while I just couldn’t really draw much um but uh me I take a lot of breaks mhm you know um and then the other thing is I changed from a mouse to a track ball so you know like I just used my thumb and that saved my wrist yeah so now I could you know like I never have hand pain you know also Ashley has some um our friend Ashley Braven has a channel um and she has art supplies for um people with disabilities and maybe there are some art supplies on there that would put less stress on your hand you might want to check out her Channel she does a lot of really cool um videos on that so maybe there’d be something there that could help you yeah to just to make it a little bit easier you know um what was your favorite TV show what when we were kids or my favorite TV show when I was a kid was Spider-Man and Speed Racer yeah and The Bugs Bunny and Bugs Bunny um my favorite TV show more recently would be the westwing law and order the original um Justified and avatar the Last air bender yeah kmo got noise cancelling headphones and they’ve been really helpful never noticed how loud everything and everyone is but I keep get um so much better having them you know what it’s so funny that you well I guess I was going to say say that but type that because I think ever since all of this stuff with Scott has sort of come to light and he’s been wearing headphones everything I’ve noticed how loud everything is people really are loud yeah it’s crazy um your video about the cafe and explaining how chaotic life is actually saved my marriage as I could explain to my husband how I couldn’t slow or understand chaos so thank you so much that’s Sarah that’s amazing Sarah I’m so happy it’s really hard that would be something that would be really hard to explain but wow that’s so great um I’ve seen you test the ohoo marker bleedproof paper I actually contacted them not long ago and they said it should work with ink and watercolor but I have some doubts I don’t have the money waterolor um hold on oh no now we’re grabbing things hold on since we’re here and I just so Happ we have watercol they said this would be okay with watercolor that’s what they said all right let’s I contacted them not too long ago and they said it should work with ink and water color but I have some doubts I wouldn’t put water it’s very smooth but let’s let’s try it yeah um let’s see yeah with all the other stuff that we’re doing I highly doubt commissions would be open at any point in the near or even distant future and know the paper did not warp bye Robert bye Robert all right let’s blow dry [Applause] it sorry he was too fast on that one see how the water’s moving with the blow dryer guys there you go it even moves for Scott I know a lot of you ask that question it’s not drying very well is it it’s very slick very slick paper but it did not bleed it warped a little but it did not it’s going to warp it’s it’s but it did not bleed um I I I I think honestly um it would be better with gouache let me put a little gouache on here yeah it’s it’s really it’s it’s very slick yeah it looks really slick but you could put watercolor on it uh so they weren’t lying let me just tear it off Pok naap has an interesting comment they say my biggest motivation for everything is death the that after I die I won’t be able to do my favorite things that makes me motivated do you think like me Scott um I I I’m not so motivated by my own demise as you are uh but that said that’s a not a bad way of looking at it I mean you only have so many years days on this planet you know and and um do the things while you can I think that’s that’s a wonderful not wonderful but it’s if it works it works I I I I’m I’m closer to to to to old age than you are I’m 55 so um I find that thinking about death is not a good way to live if that makes any sense I think um uh we have to as as humans fool ourselves into um not thinking about the inevitable demise we have to think about the life that we have and the days that we have and the hours that we’re and in this moment as much as possible um because it’s it’s it could become all consuming yes to just focus on you know that and and and depressing so I I truly think that yeah creating art because you’re alive alive mhm um not because you’re going to die but creating art because you can because you alive at this moment um is a is is maybe how I would phrase it or or put it but all right are we good yeah we are good we finished a little well this was three days of just noodling is what it was it’s not like I finished fun it’s fine um okay so the mods are putting links in to the website to SC the resources page which has all of the art supplies that Scott uses and art supplies that he’s tried so for everybody asking and there’s been a lot of you today that have asked exactly what Scott uses go to that resources page and if you’re not in the US you can use that as a reference for you know what you can find in your country okay I wish we could tell you what was great in every country around the world but there’s just no way we can know that so um so you can look for that um fluff sent you a tip
