Hours into my first bladder snail jar attempt

I had bought some duckweed from a fish store to grow in a small container to feed my goldfish occasionally and wound up discovering it was housing bladder snails. I got a 1/2 gallon jar, got sand from the beach and rinsed it several times, filled it with water from goldfish tank. It has been 42 hours since filling it and it's still a little cloudy, but I went ahead and added the snails and most of the duckweed, in addition to a small amount of hornwort I bought for the project, which is just floating around rn. I also plopped in a rock that was from my goldfish tank that is absolutely covered with diatoms.

Am I doing okay so far? I'm hoping the water clears up a little more, but if it doesn't then hopefully it will gradually as I replace water. Was adding the diatom rock a good call? Any general advice on where to go from here? Any words would be greatly appreciated 😚😇🥰🤩
