  1. It is highly recommended that pepper, chili, peppercorn and peppermint be stopped immediately. Studies have shown that these spices can severely damage red blood cells and kidneys, causing a range of health issues. Moreover, pepper and chili are commonly used as repellents for birds, gophers, and snakes and can cause rashes, fibroids, poor sleep, heartburn, and even tumors. Therefore, it is essential to avoid them in any form to maintain good health and well-being.

  2. Years ago, I would have scoffed a bit about this method of growing. Now, as an older person, I get it. Another great video…

  3. I bought my 80+ year old mother a greenstalk. She can't navigate walking in the grass any longer and she is SO happy to have a greenstalk.

  4. There are cons, for growing plants like that. The pots are stacked up, and there is nothing holding it properly down then all it takes is enough wind to knock it all down. If 1, or a few pots move out of place, and fall down then you could end up killing more of your plants! If you have ever played a game called janga well there is a legitime risk, for more of your pots to fall down.

What I said might be the biggest problem with growing plants vertically.

I think maximizing space is why gardeners grow vertically, but farmers do not grow their plants vertically. Horizontally is how farmers grow their plants, and my guess is many gardeners grow horizontally like farmers, but not use, so much space!

  5. I think it's a wonderful idea. You're not crazy. I live in a area where I don't live in a area where I don't have a backyard, so planting vegetables in containers is possible. I will try that, and remember, With God, all things are possible! Have a wonderful day ❤

  6. I got one this year and absolutely love it already. I haven’t had to fight a slug once!! Not a single nibble on dozens of lettuce heads.

  7. "Don't put Mint in your garden unless you want to regret it"
Mmmmmmmm….. Yes. There is a lot of regret in my garden this year…

  8. I had a volunteer potato last year in my greenstalk. It made some pretty good sized potatoes. Currently contains lemon mint and tomato (I didn't plant either)

  9. Grrat update! I can't wait to see how large the cabbage will get and how many peppers it will produce.

Do you have a greenstalk full of strawberries?

  10. I'm not sure that I like my new greensstalk planter. It keeps getting clogged up in the 4th layer and below I have to reach in and try to unplug the middle watering tray. I didn't get the tray to turn the greens talk so I can't get to the back. That's my mistake which can be rectified. Even if I bought the top cover it still wouldn't prevent the lower levels from clogging. I'm not sure that I would purchase another one. I'm glad yours works well.

  11. Can you do a short on YouTube of how to top dress peppers in the GreenStalk with Trifecta? I just purchased a bag, but I’m not sure of how much to use in each pocket of my Greenstalk, how to work it in, water afterwards, etc.

  12. I live in 4A and purchased the greenstack exclusively for strawberries, they all died over the winter and they were in the garage.

  13. Green stalks need to be on level ground because of watering. It grows food great. Just monitor the sunlight and water differently. Super easy. Truly great product.

  14. I have 6 greenstalks and love growing in them on my city lot. Saves me so much space, but makes my backyard feel like I'm surrounded by nature, instead of concrete. I have dragonflies, hummingbirds, bees of all sorts, ladybugs, and a myriad of other bugs all over my backyard, too. Growing plants and veg is just so lovely and satisfying. And, I get all my seeds from MIgardener. Love you guys sooo much!!

  15. I would appreciate this made with a galvanize steel, like the birdies raise beds. I hate anything plastic. If you want to do us a favor, invent them. Thanks.

  16. I've been using greentalks for years and have about 7 of the, both deep pocket and short. I use them to teach vertical gardening to apartment dwellers. I tried peppers one year in the deep pocket, and tomatoes, too.. those plants really do need to be in grow bags or the ground. You'll see why in a few weeks. Herbs? GREAT for herbs.
If you do trailers like english peas and runner beans, it becomes cousin IT but its fun.
BTW the citronella scented geranium is great in angel food cake. just line the pan with leaves, pour in the batter, bake, peel the cooked leaves off when you take it out of the pan… and serve with whipped cream and orange pecot tea.

  17. Bought first green stalk this year. It’s fun watching the growth of the variety of plants. I picked the plants to experiment how they’d do. So far the parsley, celery, and honey delight tomatoes are winning out but the lettuce varieties are also doing well right from seed. Strawberries I started from seed were very tiny when transplanted and doing not too well.

  18. I have two Green Stall towers. I grow strawberries on the two upper racks and herbs in the rest. I am very happy with these.

  19. I'm planting beans in mine this year. I planted strawberries in it last year. I covered it with a hot water heater insulating blanket freezing days & nights after I moved it inside my shed to protect it from our Michigan winter. Watered when temps over freezing. All strawberries still died same as year before when I didn't cover or move.

  20. I got some greenstalks this year, and even though I have a big garden, it is saving me soooo much space! I can focus more of my ground on crops that need a large amount of space. So thankful for this product!
