where we at mom Walnut Iowa antique City [Music] [Music] Hello friends welcome back to my channel my name is Melody and welcome to my simple Valley Home welcome to walut Iowa antique city this place is Awesome every father’s weekend they shut down the streets and so many vendors out of States come and line up here just to show off all their amazing beautiful vintage goodies Walnut Iowa is called antique city it’s because they have so many antique shops here so I’m going to be sharing with you guys all those shops and also the vendors you guys are going to see so many rare finds in this [Music] town now when I go antique shopping the first thing I always look at is furniture and Walnut Iowa is the place to go they have original pieces and great conditions yes the prices are a little bit high but you get what you pay [Music] for my favorite piece was this little office cubby unit oh my gosh if it wasn’t sold I would have taken it home in a heartbe and used it in my husband’s office I love the patina on it and again being that it’s storage and beautiful at the same time you just can’t go wrong with this [Music] piece when I go antique shopping I love to take a friend or a family member and my mom was definitely the one to take to Walnut Iowa we love this place we have so much fun we love spotting all the beautiful vintage goodies especially the dishes there was so many here in Walnut Iowa lots of McCoys lots of desert roses and tons and tons of Pyrex along with Corell items [Music] my main goal was to keep focus at this place because there is so much to look at I wanted to make sure that I keep myself on a short leash when it comes to buying everything on my list this year for Walnut Iowa again I wanted more paintings for my house more vintage goodness as far as roses Landscaping items I also wanted to find a couple vases to add to my summer collection on my mom’s list is she wanted a windmill or anything involving gardening she loves Garden things such as this beautiful garden gate she almost bought it but the price was just a little bit too high they wanted $100 for it eventually we’ll find something for her to add for her trellis in her backyard [Music] baking covered sink sink covered oh it’s a dry sink it’s a dry sink yeah it’s got copper in here it’s got a little coffee grinder coffee grinder and then thanks to store your dry goods yeah this is very fancy for very rare open it up wow can you remove the um suitcase mom so people can see the copper you take the crackers out too yeah wow that’s pretty never seen anything this is all line [Music] too the next Booth we decided to peek in was this lady that was selling lots of kitchen items lots of 60s and70s tons of Pyrex tons of Corell and lots of old Campbell things that I remember growing up with the one item that I was looking for but I didn’t find was a Linux spice set I don’t know if you guys saw those little lenux houses that come on like a little like tray like a spice tray I’ve been looking for those she did have some lenux pieces but they weren’t the whole set so I will still keep an eye on that [Music] when you come to Walnut Iowa you have to dig you have to just go through each little space either nook and cranny they don’t have everything displayed really pretty like junk stock where everything’s out in the open so when you look at things such as these pie items you really want to go through the whole stack I love the lemon on and I also love the blueberry one and I liked this vendor because her prices were fair so if you see an item that you like try to go through as much as you can cuz some of the prices can range from high to low [Music] [Music] the one thing that me and my mom love to do when we come to all the towns especially Walnut Iowa they have old houses so we always like to point out our favorites speaking of favorites is this beautiful vintage glass I’ve never seen a design like that it was so beautiful [Music] I did spot this picture I really did like it it was $34 but I figured if I keep looking I can find something with some color I really wanted to go for that wildf flower summer look so the white one I’ll think I’ll pass [Music] they call it picking for a reason because all the vendors just had a little mix of everything this vendor in particular loved their canned goodies they had tons of things involving the kitchen those 32 canisters were willing e and the Vintage folders can was really cool as well [Music] I’m always on the hunt for some unique vintage pieces to use for my kitchen or my pantry especially all the sponge wear I couldn’t get enough of it what is your favorite item that you guys like to use in your kitchen or Pantry please leave a comment down below [Music] now the one tip that I have been taking in any type of shopping especially antique shopping is I’m always looking at Christmas stuff and fall Decor even though it is off seon you wouldn’t believe the amount of stuff that’s always displayed in vintage shops as well as antique [Music] [Music] vendors I almost bought this Frame but I did pass because it was $20 and it was a little bit worn but I wanted to share with you guys the next Booth over wow glow-in-the-dark hob nail pieces I never seen this before my mom says they’re very rare and hard to find so that’s why they’re very expensive she had so many McCoy pieces she had lots of colored vintage glass I couldn’t get over the amount of things that she had that I haven’t seen it was so pretty just to kind of spot each piece and pick out your favorite [Music] [Music] if you guys have ever watch my decorate with me for my spring kitchen the one link that was requested was my cas cake stand well she has the same exact cake stand that I have she has it for $95 and I got mine from Goodwill for $8 so I definitely think that’s a [Music] win this little secretary desk definitely caught my eye I’ve never seen one with leted glass I really wanted to take it home with me and use it in my office but I did pass because it was a little bit wobbly but the patina on it was so beautiful I could not get enough of just the original features that it had moving on to the next Booth was this amazing vintage glass oh my gosh decently priced so many beautiful vintage items I wanted to buy every little piece here I did end up taking a couple pieces home I will share with you guys on my haul but I wanted to share the amber glass I was thinking nothing but fall Vibes here I wanted to take every piece with me it was so beautiful especially the butter tray I just love that piece and the candlesticks of course [Music] the next Booth over had more beautiful pieces more vintage furniture there was one item that I spotted that I’m glad that someone took because I would have snatched it from her it was absolutely beautiful this vintage Hutch with original details and I’ve never seen any on legs [Music] do you guys ever have pieces that you regret not buying at any type of marker or vintage shops well mine is this tray I could not get enough of this piece I don’t know why I didn’t buy it I regret not having it it was so beautiful it was like quilted roses I never seen anything with this type of detail I’ve seen with just regular print but the fact that it looked needle point was so fun and [Music] different when you come to Walnut Iowa you have to try their homemade ice cream it’s a one staple piece that they always have here at the market and I just absolutely love seeing how they make it it’s just so fun it’s a John Deer out of all things how’s the ice cream mom [Music] wonderful it tasted really good can’t beat homemade ice cream no you can’t [Music] [Music] water heading into town we’re going to go ahead and start peeking through the antique shops and this first one is definitely different it’s not my cup of tea but I thought I would still share with you guys some fun different items in this space definitely like more masculine type motorcycles tools but you know you got a vintage sled you need one here and it’s actually decently priced $30 not bad if you want to display it on your front porch for Christmas Miss [Music] the next antique shop is Walnut antique mall I love this little shop they always have such amazing paintings and different unique pieces when it comes to styling on your bookcases I could be in here for hours [Music] as I was filming this basement I got a little bit of a Vibe and I’m not going to lie I felt like I had someone there with me as I was filming and sure enough something happened as I was filming so I was filming and my screen was black it was showing that it was filming but it’s like someone had their hand covering my lens and every time I tried to post video it the same thing kept happening So eventually my camera went out it’s like someone turned it off and it wouldn’t turn back on until I went upstairs so that was definitely something that I will never experience and I don’t think I’m going to be filming in that basement anytime I visit [Music] here as I move on from the Friendly Ghost situation I did want to share booth number nine they had 20% off of all their items including their dishes and their artwork and I ended up snagging a couple beautiful artwork pieces from this booth [Music] as you can tell so many beautiful pieces including this landscape scene $45 I should have snagged this one it’s so pretty I love the frame regret not having that hopefully next time I come it will still be there [Music] oh my God huh c crocky yeah holy crack I’ve never seen a sponge one I mean un real [Music] wow this antique store is one of my favorites they keep adding to the Croc collection as you can tell and then also they have so many beautiful vintage antique pieces they have fireplaces bars really cool um hutches that you would never see anywhere really unique sideboards I just love this store [Music] [Music] anytime my mom and me go antique shopping we always try to pick out our favorite piece in the store and this year’s favorite piece was this secretary desk oh my goodness we were drooling over the carvings the original patina and the untouched green velvet in there it was just it was just a beautiful piece we loved [Music] it this antique shop always has an abundance amount of artwork just like the last one and they’re also decently priced $155 for this landscape print and also the one below I almost ended up buying this flower painting but I did pass on it it was $55 just the size was a little bit too [Music] big this is a fireplace mantle it’s sold already but can you imagine the house that it came out of oh my gosh there’s another fireplace Manel over here look at that one mom behind you yeah oh this looks like it came out of Victorian [Music] maybe pretty 1,500 for this mantle very pretty I would love this in my bedroom that would look stunning [Music] as I was heading downstairs in the basement another basement this one was not haunted though but I did want to share with you guys these spoed turkey plates they were really cool it was a set of $35 I did pass on them just because I thought that maybe it would be like a one-time use the rose tray was really pretty but it wasn’t an inconvenient place and I wasn’t able to spot how much the price was but I did love it [Music] anytime I come to Walnut Iowa I always have to visit the fall I love this little store it’s a little coffee shop and they have just a mixture of fun Antiques and reproduction things I love to see how they have everything displayed you get a little bit of an idea on how to create your little vignettes and your space it is a little bit more of a farmhouse Vibe but I will take every little Nook cranny of this place it is so adorable [Music] [Music] back in the day this little retail store used to be a bank so that is why it is called a vault and now it’s just a fun little cute Cofe shop [Music] the next store we popped into was Sugar Grove Antiques and this store had so much Greenery really beautiful fake Greenery like almost realistic I thought that Fern was like real and I had to refrain myself from buying it but there was so many unique and different pieces in this antique store from the others I like that she had a mix of reproduction and real and decently priced too so I’ll be sharing just a couple of my favorite little areas in this face [Music] [Music] they won 195 for this painting it’s actually pretty good for how big it is it’s very pretty look at this gorgeous mantle oh my Lord that’s beautiful and then they have like a whole bunch of greenery which is nice bright colors they perfect for summer what I also like are these little lost Nest holders that’s cute how much is [Music] that 18 oh it’s a bees nest I like it really pretty these guys are really pretty they’re like little stands that you can have your poof on they’re 16 a piece and then she wants 12 for the lavender which I think is a pretty good deal cuz it’s really really pretty I love all her Greenery in this [Music] space anytime you visit Walnut Iowa you have to see the yard art this little place is so fun I can be in here for hours with my mom my mom is in heaven with this little area she loves looking at all of them she had a hard time finding which one she wanted and she ended up picking out a little windmill there is one little trellis here that I almost ended up buying but I decided to hold off because I will wait until I finish my backyard when I start on that project next year it’s $85 and it’s just so fun and unique and different I’ve never seen a trellis this big and just the iron work was absolutely beautiful [Music] you get yourself mom this little cutie I think it’s pretty and on to our last stop our last stop is the barn this and antique store is one of my favorites not only because it is a barn but they always have the most rare and unique pieces in this town you really have to pick through you have get you get the dust and all when it comes to this space it’s it’s a really cool place to just dig through I love it it’s a picker’s [Music] dream in in I 3. I’ve been in Walnut before. Unfortunately, not to go anticipating. This was where we would spend the night on our way to Sturgis. This was so much fun to see so many gorgeous pieces of furniture. Pristine looking condition. I also loved all of the pretty floral dishes. I can’t wait to see what you took home.

  8. That town is seriously impressive!! I've never seen so many stores and vendors in one place. When l saw all that pink depression glass, my heart almost stopped. I live on the other side of the US and will never be able to get to Iowa, but what a treasure. And l have next to no self restraint so it would be so dangerous!! Thanks for taking us along.

  9. It was fun watching but it was sad to me that you kept saying I wished I had bought this and I didn't and I wished I had bought that and I didn't and you never did show us what you bought. I like the shows where they also show what they bought in the same video. I don't know if I will catch your next video or not
