Zombie fig and what to do?

 Hi, I’ve had my fiddle for about 5 years now and she wasn’t fabulous but she was alive. Then unfortunately my car broke down on an interstate move and all my plants fried in the heat for a few hours until I got back up and running. My fiddle leaf fig fared the worst and I had assumed it was a goner, just haven’t gotten around to getting her thrown away.
Then this morning I noticed this new growth near the bottom! Should I top it above the new growth and start over? Not sure what u should do to make it look nice and keep the new growth alive. Thanks for any advice!
