Alocasia

Second first leaf of my Alocasia Dragon Scale albo variegata.

I bought a corm from a private seller on Kleinanzeigen back in April this year (in Germany). I was a bit skeptical at first because I knew that the variegation won’t be stable and I might not get variegation at all. But what the hell! I paid 46€ for the corm and shipping.

She pushed out the first supposedly variegated leaf back in May but I managed to killed it because the water somehow pooled in the furled up leaf when I watered. And the fact that she lives inside the IKEA mini greenhouse, so the humidity builds up and it rots away the only leaf.

But I didn’t give up on the corm. I kept watering the moss and kept it wet. And here it is. The second first leaf — this time I got to see it unfurled and it doesn’t disappoint 😊

I think it’s more like albo tricolor than just albo. But whatever it is, it’s just beautiful 😍
