Hia! I recently had some hoyas gifted to me & was wondering if anyone can help ID the specific type for me 🙂 none of them are flowering yet. They’re all numbered 1-3, I’m not sure if #1 is even a hoya though haha

Personally I would call 2&3 Lacunosa, if you were not provided with an ID. I acknowledge most would call 2&3 krohniana. However there is scientific debate about this being a valid species (Given the flowers don’t differ from lacunosa, and the leaves are VERY similar). If you call it krohniana, just be prepared you will likely need to rename it in the next 5 years. But who knows!
Backed up here by Doug Chamberlain from Vermont Hoyas (OG hoyahead in case you haven’t heard his name) in a recent 2023 (or 24?) interview. Unfortunately his ~2014 post on his website has not been updated and a lot of sellers will still quote it as fact!

That’s the biggest sigilatis I’ve seen. Congrats!! The two krohniana/lacunosa are lovely specimens as well. They are major bloomers, give them plenty of light and watch they don’t dry out completely when blooming, mine drop their buds all the time if they go too dry. They also smell more at dusk and dawn, so your home will smell amazing
