00:00 June Back Garden Tour and welcome!
2:26 Garden tour earlier in the week with old fence
8:19 Fence partially installed
11:30 The Reveal

[Music] [Applause] [Music] okay I’ve pulled the uh camera off of the stand and I’m going to walk with you so we can talk about it first let’s take a peek over the fence I want to show you the mulch so that’s my project this week we’re going to put fabric down in um professional landscape fabric down in all the pathways and then spread all that Mulch on all the pathways and uh the new fence will be a backdrop back there so there will be a new fence in between the two gardens sheds to give it a nice backdrop and finish it off and then here we can look how pretty this is looking look at those window boxes and containers those super Tunas are doing really good hi everyone welcome to Illinois and garden zone 5 we are so glad you’re here with us today and on this June Back Garden Tour and we have a new back garden fence so I’m so excited to show that to you previously we had a wooden 4ot fence and we changed that to a six-foot fence and also enclosed more of our yard so um the new raised Cut Flower Garden which we’re standing in I want to show you that and show you the look so the new fence have has given it you wouldn’t think the two feet would be that big of a difference totally different look I feel like um it has gave it so much design and structure having that extra um 2 feet to give it more of that cozy uh Garden Room feel so let me take you around I am going to show you some footage of the fence earlier this week the old fence to give you a comparison and also some footage of uh in between when they were putting the fence up it was a two-day project and let’s get going now when I did plant those up I did put biotone in the soil the soil did have its own fertilizer in it and I also added some slow relase pellet fertilizer in it so it kind of got a triple speed when I planted the containers and the window boxes but um that will not hold them through the entire season so I do need to feed them and probably um I will give them some more slow relase pellets in the the soil here before long but they’re looking really pretty so those super Tunas are bubble gum Paradise and silver berry and then the purple that you see is super beina when so they’re all Proven Winners and they do fabulous they just grow and you can see on the side window boxes on the side of the garden house they will start climbing up the side of the windows and just really look pretty and then Cascade down the front now in the um Garden we still do have some roses blooming and like I mentioned last uh time but this may be your first time checking in with me this is a new garden bed we just uh created this last year so this was actually grass last year and some mulch no plants in it and I uh pulled it out made it bigger and added plants in there so we have Limelight hydrangeas we have roses we have cat mint um some little shrubs at the front and then we also have uh some Salvia over under the window boxes that do really well lavender just look how pretty princess Alexander is but she’s pretty close to my walkway and I knew that she would be and then behind there is Lim lights so I’m thinking about actually moving her I may move her out to the cut flower garden we’ll see and there’s a closeup of the containers and how pretty they’re [Music] looking and then over on this side I had honeysuckle on the back of the fence and I did have to cut all that down yesterday and take that trellis down because that fence panel will be removed and now not replaced so in the back we have a Eden rose on the black tutur she is looking pretty uh she has just started blooming so she’s looking good I did have to trim off of her yesterday I wanted to trim her away from the fence again I don’t want you know anyone anyone getting stuck uh the White Rose in the back the it’s looking really good that’s Polar Express um trim get back some too the sitting pretty roses are still blooming and looking nice I did have to change out you may see the pot and wonder what happened there uh the pot of flowers ended up um there is a hole in that ear my husband made sure to that the hole you know went through for drainage but it must not be big enough or it got clogged and the pink and white petunia that was in it in it up I didn’t realize it but I went outside and it was full of water when I peaked in it and so it ended up killing it so I switched it out and put a mini white Vista petunia in it yesterday so we’ll see how that is how it does and usually the vistas take more water so I think it’ll do better and then I’ll just keep a a watch on it and I think really it was my own fault I just watered it too much and didn’t realize that it wasn’t draining out so now that I’m aware of that that I’ll be more careful The Knockouts are looking really pretty the Salvia and the Veronica up front here the has uh Bloom now some of the Salvia is already done so I’ve already gave it its first cut back and it will rebloom now the ears are looking really pretty uh we did have a windstorm last week and it broke off a huge piece of the yellow petunia in this this ear here uh it still looks fine but you can see that there’s a difference between the two this one’s much Fuller the roses in the background are still looking pretty and I did prune up the magnolia tree so that opened it up so I could see better um and get make sure that they’re getting enough Sun back there on the back side too now over here is a big difference because there was a trellis here that had a bunch of Ivy and a climbing rose on it a little mini climb Rose and I had to cut all of that back to um give them access to the fence champagne wishes is doing really well the the Delphinium in the back has multiple multiple blooms on it and is looking really good that’s a little quick fire hydrangea behind the um Rose and you can see little quick fire is the first to bloom it comes sooner than any of the other ones so it already has its little buds all over it so before long it will be blooming we’ve got some Salvia in the front and the Fox Glove there is done but it should be putting it said that it it would push up uh more heads on it so I’m going to leave it and see if it blooms some more then we’ve got the Eden rose look how pretty the Eden Rose is now this is Pretty in Pink Eden Rose and it is a climber but um I did cut it quite quite a lot in this Springtime and now I kind of like it shorter we’ll see how it goes but I needed it shorter anyway for the fence crew so it’s working out perfect that it’s that side oh I want to show you the Claus you guys it started blooming look how pretty that Claus is the fence is partially put up so it’s a new six foot shadow box Cedar wooden fence and you can see on this side you can still see the gaps between the fencing and it’s because they haven’t put the inside board in so once they put the inside board all the way down we’re going to leave this section over here that had the 4 foot fence from the garden house to the old fence open so it’ll give me a nice open space to get to and from and keep my garden hoses and stuff to to put my stuff in for all the raised bed The Cut Flower Garden so it’s enclosing that and then between the garden house and the fence that’s three quick fire f f hydrangeas so they’ll get 6 to 8T tall so that’ll be a really nice fill in there to have the hydranges now over on this side now keeping in mind this isn’t even done they’ll be back tomorrow to finish it up you can see where we’ve taken it out farther and enclosed the raised bed area out to the Garden the actual garden shed and they have the double panels there and they have to put up the gate still and then on the front side it’s still the just the front panels they have to come back and put in the back panels tomorrow to give it that shadow box look but it’ll give it a nice enclosed bigger room feel and then where the little 4ot fence is here by the uh Arbor they’re going to put up a little threefoot fence with a gate and so then as we spin around here this is in the new raised bed garden area and then we’ll have a little threefoot fence here to go into the back garden with the nice wooden fence that’ll eventually over time it’s Cedar now and it will gray out and age over time but it smells really good today it has that new Cedar smell but I just it just looks so different having it just that additional two foot because our old fence was 4ot so having 6 foot I just really like the the Garden Room look now that it has I can’t wait to see how it looks with the shorter 3-foot fence to make it more of an enclosed room [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] thanks for hanging out with me today guys and if you are looking for more Garden inspiration check out these videos next [Music]

  1. Hey friends, so excited about the garden change!🔨
What garden projects are you working on this summer?
Thanks for watching and of course I appreciate you liking, sharing, and subscribing! 😁🌸💚

  2. 이른아침 자연의소리 가슴에 와닿는 좋은영상을 가만이 안아봅니다. 너무좋아요, 최고입니다.

    잘 감상하고 행복안고 물러갑니다 .조아요.👇❤❤❤❤❤

  3. Beautiful looking garden, its the bees knees. We have two kniphofia and four echinacea to plant into the flowerbeds. We mulch our flowerbeds with homemade compost and add a couple of handfuls of organic fish blood and bone meal every March. When we plant these plants they will get a couple of handfuls of fish blood and bone and a mulch next March. The soil is rich we have been doing this for the last thirty years since we started gardening when we bought the house.

  4. Love your beautiful yard! Everything is so healthy and lush and I love your new fence…it would be great for trellising! New subbie here. I love your channel and get a little envious of the gardens in cooler temps! My petunias are starting to pucker out already!

  5. Absolutely STUNNING! The new fencing is beautiful, and really makes all your garden spaces pop. You have created an amazing garden oasis, and I know how much work that takes! ~M~

  6. Quite a lovely garden and the fencing choice is perfect. I was noticing how abundantly gorgeous your Clematis vines are. Mine are not so full. Do you have any videos on how to get them to grow as beautiful and full as yours? I have two different types and would love to add a couple more but I need to learn how to get them growing better 😊❤

  7. New subscriber, love your gardens and home. So many great ideas and now for this horrible heat to go…my flowers are about to become dried bunches to hang from my peg racks in the house 😂

  8. Sharing such a beautiful, beautiful garden thanks for sharing how you put this video together and done a wonderful job. Thanks so much my dear friend gave you a thumbs up for it. I can see why you have 6000 views beautiful beautiful garden. Every inch of your garden is just fabulous. Thanks so much for sharing it with us

  9. I love your new fence. We live on 80 acres and have no fences, except the electric fence to keep the steers in. But what I love about fences is they enclose an area and is a nice backdrop, what we have is everything so open it's hard to define an area. This is only the 4th yr. for my 8 gardens. I have lots of containers where I put all my annuals, and, I have a lot of farm antiques spread around which I like. But I love the formal look of your garden, so elegant.
