Outdoor White Bird of Paradise

Planted it about a month ago. No pot. It lives in the ground. I've been watering. It gets 6-8 hours of direct sunlight each day.

One leaf is just really looking #wrecked and sunburnt.

My thinking is maybe I'm not watering it enough since it's new planting and so hot(so cal so about 90° average a day)

I feel like that’s too hot for the plant? Especially if it’s getting that much direct light.

Older leaves die off like that. The other brown spot looks like potential physical damage.

But, if you get plants from a nursery that you intend to plant in “full sun” like this, I’d totally recommend hardening them off. Sometimes the conditions in greenhouses and stores don’t prepare the plant well enough to just be tossed out in the ground.
