Can daikon radish grow from tops?

A week or so ago I bought a large daikon radish that was sprouting leaves from the top, so I cut off about the top inch and plopped it into my fish tank. Since then the leaves have continued to grow and it looks healthy, but there are no roots coming from the other side. I know technically the radish part is the root, and I don’t expect to get more edible radish from this prop, but I like the look of the leaves and am hoping to keep it going as a decorative plant. Does anyone know if this setup is viable long term and if daikon leaves are edible?

if it works like carrots i believe this plant will root and flower eventually, then new radishes can be grown from those seeds
