You should be okay. I usually keep my props in water until they have a bit more roots. But water frequently and make sure the pot has drainage holes 🙂

That tiny pot is perfect for just that little guy. Always make sure the soil stays a little moist for the first couple weeks after you put it in the soil. I use a spray bottle and just spritz the soil every few days for the first bit.
