hey guys I don’t know about you but I am so excited to be out in the garden again I have waited so long because we live in a Zone 6B we’ve been having a lot of rain and still cold nights well it’s been in the 50s and 60s at night so we’re able to start planting some things so I think we’re going to be in a safe Zone from now on over 60° at night so I’m so excited I can’t wait to show you guys what I’ve been working on the things that I have in store we’ve been doing more Hardscape things because of the weather and uh now I’m ready to put plants in so let me show you what we’ve done and what we’re about to do and the look that I’m going for so let’s get at it so here we put in a walkway and a little patio to uh have something to place our our garbage totes on and um it’s easier to roll out cuz we had this existing walkway that leads out to the front so we added this pad on with a dry pour and then the walkway that leads out to the garden and we still have plans for this area here we added in the retaining wall on both sides and yesterday I filled in with dirt I did have to lift these plants up here and uh planted this tree here yesterday these were here from last year I do have more plants to put in I still have to uh even out this area here cuz this is where it went down this was existing so I just want to make it all even I have to get more retaining wall blocks cuz I want to bring it around this way and we’re going to put in a little Pond right over here so I want to bring the retaining wall up to the pond and then we’ll have the rocks on the lower side going to the little patio over there so let’s go out so as you walk out the front yard do you see the walkway that goes to the front and then you have this here we built these stairs this uh the beginning of the spring and added in this uh little retaining wall same as the back and I did a video on how I did that if you want to go back do the uh do the playlist and see so this is the other cusa Red Dog excuse me cusa dogwood tree and over here I put it here also so my plans are for these to you know grow big and I can prune them how I want to to keep them the size that I want and we do have uh Gates we have to put up so this here we’re going to uh put a step down over here because like over here you can see the steps down and I actually did put a video on how we did this if you want to go back and look at it that was the video previous to this one so yeah so we want to put a step to go down in here because it’s a little slant um and then I’m thinking about starting from here and putting a little flower bed in this area here and my plans are to power wash the retaining walls to get them clean again and add another flower bed in the front and go around like this way connecting it to this one I still have to work with getting plants which I’m probably going to go today and uh get some to fill in some of this area I may not get it all but we’ll see so I have another little planting area right here off the side of the steps so I have a lot of planting space a lot of projects to do so subscribe like comment and share tell me what you think also this side of I have a lot of PL space here I want to fill this area in with flowers put Plants here and here some flowers or something over here and here cuz this is going to get big eventually but but it’s a very slow grower I want to put some ground cover in this area here so another thing that I want to do in this area is create a little sitting area so that my husband and I can come out here and sit and uh neighbors can come up and talk to us and stuff like that and you know um because we have all this fencing around how you doing good and you put it I wanted do like a little patio thing right here but I want to also bring out the garden bed going this way and I want to flank this area here to make it like an entrance coming down the stairs into this area here so it’ll bring this around this way and that area around this way with something on each side and you walk right in through this way so here I’m going to be filling in some uh plants today I’m I’m thinking I want to take I have more Coral Bells like this I forgot the name of them I have to look it up they might be Primo pistachio maybe but I want to put one more here and then add uh maybe 1 two three here so it’ll be five Al together and then fill in in this this area with something else I’m actually trying to uh locate some hellor to put back here I think that would look pretty and maybe even put a um bleeding heart back there I’m going to dig the holes first for the coral bells and then go and get them because I have the Coral Bells potted in a plant for now I dug them up out the ground and put them in a pot and um you know to keep them there until I was able to find another spot for them but they actually I think doubled in size from how from when I put it in but all right I’m going to dig the holes I’ve been keeping these Coral Bells in this pot just from uh early spring dig some up for here are two I think I’m going to keep those together one two three four that’s all I need for now turn this it’s kind of getting burnt from the Sun but I put this here to try to protect it I’m going to add a bit of compost to it sh for for okay so here you have it I put them in I added a little compost in each one of them this area here gets Morning Light I think it’s around 11 is maybe 12 yes it’s 11:42 okay so I brought my bir of Paradise plant out from inside the house and I would like to separate those and plant one in the ground here and one maybe over there somewhere and keep the other one in the pot and see how we make out with that for is for for for for [Music] now for this last uh bird of paradise I want to put it back into a pot and put it back in the house so there for for so I’m putting the original dirt in at the bottom then I’m putting some uh the cactus palm tree dirt in the pot then some Pearl Light mix that up and now I’m going to put some Palm Tone in it mix it up and then top it back off I want to mix that uh fertilizer in there first because it’s going to stink and when you put it back in the house it’s going to smell so you want to cover that up so the smell won’t come out you want to go ahead and fill it back up to where the dirt line was on the uh palm tree how I can tell where the dirt line was the bottom of it is a lighter color on the stem so I’m going to go ahead and water that in I’m putting it on here so the water could drain down into the dirt you definitely want to do this too because the dirt was settled and you may need to add some more I’m going get some more water I went inside to get the water because I want warm water to create that tropical feel in the dirt I don’t want to put cold water from the hose I want to see the water coming out the bottom there it is all right that’s ready to go back in I’m going to put it in the shade see put it in the shade let it finish draining I’m going to clean this mess up now okay so I have plants in my office and I need to get some of those outside let me show you so here is my office this is where the bird of paradise was this has to go out this uh queen palm has to go out it had spider mites so I had to cut the leaves and I’m hoping that it’s still going to you know grow out I cut this one off recently because it started to come out and it it was like really hanging it hang so bad it was hanging so bad it was over my desk so I had to cut that off I got to get this out in a quarter line and I have more quarter lines over here I’m going to split that one up and I do have another one outside I’m hoping I had it in the pool house to over winter I’m hoping that it’ll grow this one is going outside also but that’s going to go on the pool side so I’m going to start with this one this one looks the worst and and I’m going to separate those and put them in the in the ground over here over here and it’s probably somewhere over in this area okay I went ahead and planted one there see how it does in the sun I believe these are sun or shade but I could be wrong so I have three more left so here is where I planted the last three out of that pot in the back of this Rising Sun red bud tree and I think they’ll do well there I planted them right into the soil that’s there which is mixed with Sandy Loom and compost so now I’m just going with the flow I have a hosta that I would like to put next to that bird of paradise and I’ll show you I’ve had these hostas in here over the winter over on the patio this’s the side yard where I’ve been planting up stuff so was it was on the patio on the other side of the house I can’t remember the name of this green and yellowish one but the white tail feather I believe it’s called or the other three I also have a uh hydranga I’m trying to root so far it looks like it’s good the leaves not drying up and I have that um in different parts of my yard I’m going to take this one out and put it over here for thank you for for watching and if you like what you seen don’t forget to subscribe like comment and share and hit that notification Bell so you
