Looks like rhipsalis paradoxa. I don’t propgate in water but it may be possible. I just let the end callous over for a couple of days, then stick it in some quick draining soil (like a cactus mix) and water sparingly until the tug test says it has roots. It can take a little while.

My guess is either Christmas Cactus/Easter Cactus or possibly Dragonfruit..
