Advice

So I went a local lake and decided to throw something together, I got the mud, some plants and moss from the lake and of course the water. I notice that there are little swimmers. I think there are scuds, so little leeches and a few other things swimming. Maybe water fleas? but I don’t know if they are visible and there looks to be a little tiny aquatic spider in one of them. Is there anything I need to do to keep these going on their own? Or do I just seal them and let them go? Will the plants take to the mud?
