Last year I bought a nice pink dragon alocasia. I was a newbie, and didn’t realize it had root rot and dying leaves…. I just thought it was some pretty red coloured leaves. Fortunately /r/alocasia adjusted my expectations.
Anyway, it dies, I clean off the roots with water and hydrogen peroxide, and and I wait months and months for it to develop roots in water. I eventually give up and chuck it in a moss prop-box instead. A while later, some roots finally start to appear! Hooray!
I transfered it into moss in a ventilated plastic cup and now it is re-growing it’s main shoot! I can’t wait to see a leaf eventually unfurl!
P.S. I know I should just that leaf on my black velvet with a makeup brush or something.
