The biggest branch on our Palo Verde tree in our front yard fell last week (we live in the Phoenix metro area). I'm thinking it might be best to cut off the rest of that branch near where it connects to the tree; thoughts? This tree is the centerpiece of our yard and we'd love for it to last a long time. Anything else you all see? Thanks in advance 👍

Thats too big of a wound to make at the trunk. You’d do more harm than good. You should cut the end off (a little past the break) because it’s a hazard over the sidewalk. Let the tree send out sprouts from there and maybe remove the lead in time as it starts dying.
