About continuously adding bleach in kratky vessels (every 4 days?)

My plan as of now is on the fourth day to top off the water and add the amount of bleach for the whole vessel at that time assuming it's all evaporated or whatever it does. I'm keeping it to 4ppm since it was recommended and it's easy to add 1 mL to 5 gallons or 2 mL to 10 gallons of nutrient water.

So in my 10 gallon of vessel every 4 days I plan to add whatever nutrient water it needs to stay at the level i like and add 2mL of bleach. Is there anything wrong with this that I don't know about?

Why would you put bleach in at all? Is this in response to some issue that has arisen?

If you have opaque barrels and light isn’t getting in then you generally shouldn’t have any problems with algae and in general it’s very rare to get bio problems. You can clean the reservoirs properly between uses with a mild acid (lemon juice or vinegar or something to get the deposits off the side) and then yeah it should be fine.

Also Kratky isn’t really about “topping off the water”, you set up the system one time and let the roots drink the water down to create an airspace above them for the air roots to breathe. Ideally it’s “one and done” if the reservoir is big enough and you can refill to about 40% if you are growing something longer living and the reservoir is empty.
