I’m not sure of the name of the species, but I took a cutting from my MIL’s plant yesterday. Did I cut it in the right spot? Will I have better success cutting at every node or keeping it as is? Thanks in advance! I am new to this.

It looks like a Monstera variety (possibly a monstera deliciousa). I think you’d be fine either way, leaving it at that length or chopping it into more pieces. As long as there’s a leaf and a root node on each segment, you shouldn’t have any problems!

That’s a rhaphidophora tetrasperma. It’s not actually a monstera, though it is called a mini monstera.
Keep it as is, but personally, I have mixed luck propagating this plant, and usually 1/3 of the cuttings don’t root. It takes a while for it to root at all.
If you have a pothos, take a cutting from that and put it in the water with this one to encourage rooting.

Pull that bottom leaf off. I would wait and see what it does. You should cut further away from the node itself, mid stem but it will be fine. You should be able to get multiple plants out of this! 🤗

What if I have a monstera leaf only w no node. Can it be propped?
