  1. Hi Laura, Aaron, Benjamin, Samantha, and crew! 👋
Did I miss a video including Benjamin's garden?
I'd love to see his zinnia bed, if he did one like he planted last year.
Samantha needs her own flower bed too.🤗
Have a wonderful fourth of July!!!
    ✌️💖🙏🇺🇲🎉🎆🎇🤜

  2. So lovely to get a break in the weather with some summer rain. The smell of wet straw is amazing. I love the look of the red burst in the garden. Just enough. Am I mistaken or was that a flower stem I saw coming out of the Mangave in the tall pot in the south garden?

  3. I think it's going to be lovely! And I really don't see anything wrong with the pink and red combo, it's very Valentine's day. Of course you're not going to put that everywhere but variation is the key for an interesting garden, in my opinion.

  4. Why would PW send her so many red plants, knowing she is not a fan of red? I think it’s very generous of her to plant these in her garden.

  5. Excited for the onslaught of red to your garden and how well it may perform with your echinacea. Who knows, it might become a standard in the coming years. 🤷🏽‍♀️

  6. Seeing red in your space really is jarring. 😅 I love red, so its weird to feel a bit taken aback seeing it here.

  7. these days hails are crazy, they get to be a golf ball size, and I've seen a video from China where it looked to be the size of a fist. I don't think your high tunnel would be any kind of protection from such a hail, you'd need to get into that vehicle you have and rush back home asap if you have any idea that there may be a hail coming. even with normal hail if it hits you you won't like it, but these hails can k a grown man for sure

  8. Japanese beetles are an absolute nightmare for me. I am planting to avoid them in my garden right now. I simply don’t have the time to pick them off everyday and put them in soapy water. It is really time consuming. I refuse to use inorganic sprays. I started using milky spore, but that takes a while and only kills at the grub stage. The challenge is real. I wish there was something more we could do on that front.

  9. I naturally get pirate (orius) bugs in the late summer/fall and they are a menace. They have a nasty bite and nothing deters them. It makes sitting out almost impoasible. I hope the variety you have don't do that. You do have a bigger, more open property so maybe they won't be an issue. I have a heavily treed 2 acre plot.

  10. What will that heavy rainstorm do to the beneficial insects you just sprinkled on the plants? Will the rain wash them away??

  11. What a perfect task for Benjamin! My 2 oldest are 2 yrs & 10 days apart, so I can really relate to your kiddo’s. Boy/girl too! Time flies as they are 22 & 20 now! ❤❤

  12. Does that work on apple trees that have black spot on leaves and can you recomened what natural way to take care of an orchard.

  13. Red and pink can look lovely together. You just need to make sure the red is not heading toward orange while the pink is on the bluer side of things. It doesn't make red an enemy. Pinks can be both cool and warm also and look awful when put near the wrong shades.

  14. Hi Laura! Question about the beneficials. Is it better to release them every year or will they eventually stick around and increase in population naturally over time?

  15. Actually I think the red works! But I did notice it was facing away from your house 🤣It's amazing how much the garden is filling in.

  16. I was assuming my squished & dried up looking roses were due to space issues. Thank you so much for informing us all! I’ve sprayed Bio-Advanced (from bottle) twice now. I need to wear a high level mask as just a few sprays irritates my throat & lungs.

  17. Hi Laura do you find that you’re getting more and more pests in your garden. Is it due to more plants or more moisture since you’re getting a little bit more rain this year.

  18. Question please; Not related to this video but, in regards to the struggling redbud in the south garden, what if you plant something like daylillies around the base to help cool the roots? I love your channel!

  19. I am like you Laura and i do not have any red in my gardens.. i enjoy the softer colors ..the predatory bugs are so cool , wish we could get them in our area…

  20. If I’m only getting 720p & not 1080p, is that due to my connection or is it from their download? Thanks! 😊

  21. Pollinators are beneficial to have, for growing food, but they are not needed. Farmers could benefit from having pollinators, but I do not think gardeners need them. It is not a big deal if pollinators are seen in a garden. Because they are not needed. One thing I learned about gardening is how pollinators pollinate, and if you to learn how that is done then YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, AND THIS IS NOT DONE BY ASKING ME!!!

Controlling pests is easy to do without needing any insects!

  22. How wonderful that Benjamin and Samantha are growing up bi-lingual. They are learning botany every day and it's a language like any other. 😊❤😇

  23. So much beautiful information what a beautiful garden and the seeing kids helping you sound of the rain is gorgeous thank you Lauren for sharing with us you guys are awesome stay healthy be happy peace

  24. In recent videos, Laura has mentioned all the supplemental watering she and Bethany has been doing for the new plants that have drip every other day but they haven't rooted in yet. My question is why don't you program the drip for daily watering until the new plants are rooted in and then change it back to every other day for the rest of the growing season? Would daily drip not provide enough moisture for new plants?
