For context- I want to grow the biggest basil plant I possibly can.. is it possible to prune too early? I pruned all my plants down to the first node, this is the growth since then. I want to cut it above the first node on the new stems, making it shoot 4 more. Is this a bad idea? Do I wait longer?

Well you can, but I wouldn’t. Let those two sets of leaves getting a little larger then pinch your basil again
