How to test an electric fence (the stupid way)

We have owned multiple fence testers, non of which we have been able to trust and many that have broken so we just give it a little touch now 😂

My dad and fiance had me test the fence last time we set one up so it was my finances turn to try this time

Alternately, the best way to test someone’s intelligence..  is to tell them to directly touch an electric fence.

Try using a multimeter or a spark plug tester with some wire and alligator clips next time.  😉  ⚡

Maybe use some a small wire or if you really wanna test accuracy some salted meat? Or just listen to the current running through the fence?

Or.. and hear me out on this, you can get a fence tester that will tell you how many thousand volts are in the wire.

That said, I’ve touched our chicken fence to make sure after my mothering law said it wasn’t on… it was

A good way to wake up every morning, go make sure the fence is still on

I use a blade of grass. It insulates it some and you get a tickle, but nowhere near the punch of the full fence.

I remember being told as a kid that if you absolutely had to touch the fence, to do it with both hands to prevent it hurting so bad
