New bonsai pot

Negative aspect about the new “pot” is that the drainage hole might not suffice…
I’m afraid that a second hole will compromise the structural integrity…
Maybe it’s all in my head 🤪

I think that is a fairly big pot for such a small tree, but if that works for you it’s all good. My trees are sitting in pots that are considered too deep, but I keep them on a balcony where it can get blistering hot in summer. The deeper pots hold more moisture when I water them in the morning, so that my trees won’t dry out before I get home from work.

  2. Pot is too large and drainage is too small. Your soil will definitely be staying too wet for this pine.
