Whats wrong

I bought this place a couple years ago and there's 2 weeping willows on either side of the front yard. One looks fine and this one looks like it's dying. I discovered this page and thought I'd see if anyone has any ideas. Could it be something to do with the garden beside it?

Tree will be fine as long as you remove the top, because it’s already dead, and you prune the lower section of the tree, it’s getting pretty close to the ground:)

That’s a birch. They are susceptible to hot conditions and at least in my area the birch borer. They don’t live terribly long in any case

The white one is birch, it is an understory tree and does not do great over time alone in a sunny field.
