That’s why I love Ficus and Chinese elm


This is rather a short term progression but still…
I bought this Chinese elm cutting last year, let it grow for the season, repotted in spring and started styling. Actually slid-potted again to work on the design 6 weeks ago (that’s why the stem is at the side of the pot, because I didn’t want to do any rootwork but wanted to plant at an angle). What do you think?

I really love Chinese elms and ficuses because they grow so fast and can be used for so many styles from n early age…

    Interesting! I would be scared to pot a plant against the pot. But I get your idea. Insane that you got so much growth in just a year.
