Help with Roses

Hi there,

I've moved into a new place earlier in the year which had this established but unkempt rose plant,

I cleaned it up a bit and tied it to the fence, all looked good over summer and autumn but now the temps have dropped the leaves are rapidly yellowing and falling off.

I've never had roses before so not sure if this is usual leaf turnover or if something is not quite right and needs attention,

There are some little red buds on the branchs but I'm not sure how recent they are,

Any help would be greatly appreciated
