  1. The garden is looking fabulous even with all the heat we are having🥵 I picked my first large tomato today😊an Early girl 🍅 in a day or two I think it will be fully ready. I think I will use a couple of your tips. Plant more bean plants and start a Diva Cucumber💚🌸Thanks CaliKim and Camera Guy🤗🤗

  2. I love your creative use of space. The garden looks wonderful. Heading over to watch the hand pollination video. Our melons are just starting to flower now. I think I'll give it a try. What part of CA are you in? I grew up in Orange and Huntington, moved to Myrtle Beach, SC and finally settled in the NC mountains. I'm just beginning this gardening journey now that I have some time to relax. Thanks for all the tips! ✌️

  3. Gorgeous garden!!!
I had a 6' cosmos I had to support with a T-post last year, goofy! That is why I love my tape tool, easy to use on larger diameter plants.
Every year I take extra plants put them on a table by the sidewalk with a sign, "FREE Organically Grown Plants!!!" They dissapear. Last year I donated to a school garden, one year I left them on a table at a community garden.
Had to make a fence out of T-posts and 6' bamboo canes to keep the potato plants from covering my peppers.
Have a nice weekend! Stay Well!!!

  4. Hi Kim. The summer heat is a killer, here in Alabama. I am harvesting a crazy amount of tomatoes, and will hopefully start thinning down the first crop of tomato plants. The second crop of tomatoe mplants are already starting to fruit. I had to pull out my lemon squash this miorning, one because of a rooting problem, the other was dying off from the heat. The zucchini plants are still going strong. I need the bed space for fall planting of brocolli and cauliflower, so they would be coming out soon anyhow. I have potatoes chitted and cut up for planting tomorrow. I am anxiously waiting for the watermelon and canteloupe to ripen. We got rain today, but not before having to drag a hose and water, my prtefered method, an acre's worth of garden including my fruit trees.
Next year, I will be using cilantro as a companion plant for my tomatoes. They have a essence that reminds me of stinkbugs. It is sure to keep the armyworms and hornworms rom my tomato plantgs.
My chicken run is complete less a few chicken toys. The chicks are enjoying their delux condo and its run. In a week or two, I'll let them out into the larger chicken run. The chicks are starting their fourth week and are mostly feathered. They look a lot better with feathers grown in, but it is harder to tell them apart. They are getting plenty of goodies from the garden, and look forward to me bring them daily treats. Watching the tiny raptors feast on sliced tomatoes or cucumbers is akin to watching a school of piranah in a feeding frenzy.

  5. Loved taking your tour! 🥒🍅🌻🌺
It’s beautiful and looks relaxing! I Love whimsy! Your tips are amazing! I’ve recently hooked up approximately 325 drips/soakers! I did this primarily so we are not so dependent on our friends to come over and babysit the yard while we are on vacation. We have relied on them for years. Most things were hooked up but needed some repairs and many new things were not hooked up. Since watching your videos and other gardening videos, I incorporated some small vegetable gardens here and there just as a trial to see how this all works. It has been a learning experience but really fun! I’m not so sure that the production has been that successful, but it has in small amounts and that’s great! I learned what I can do differently next time, and I will do succession planting. We are just up the road from you in Redding, so you may know that our temperatures are already reaching up to 118°. This is typical for this area. We have approximately 50 trees on our property so finding an area that vegetables could get sun, but not the blazing sun has been tricky! I just picked two pickling cucumbers this morning. Don’t you know I am so excited! 😃I have a flowering vine close by, so I am hoping the bees will spend a little more time there pollinating. We are traveling soon to visit our grandson who just turned six. I really want him to get the gardening bug, so I am looking forward to taking him to a garden center and getting a good sized container to put in a variety of things, and hopefully things that will grow fast while we are there. 😊
Thank you and Garden Guy so much for your inspiring garden videos 🪴😊

  6. Just love all of your garden tours! I started getting tomatoes early which was great but then I noticed subsequent flowers drying up our crazy heat! Just purchased shade cloth after watching your videos, and getting another wave of dwarf tomatoes and spacemaster cucumbers going just in case! All of my scarlett runner bean flowers also fell off in the heat wave 😩

  7. I loved this, and you look adorable in your sundress and sneakers. 😊
I may try those Diva cucumbers. I have not tried a non pollinating variety yet. I tend to not like slicers and really enjoy snacking and pickling varieties.
The wild flowers were absolutely gorgeous!
My biggest challenge is 100 degree days and grasshoppers.
I am having success growing under shade cloth.
This month I am growing beans, okra, sunflowers and lemon basil.

  8. Hi calikim. I am not a new gardner, but I planted some diva cucumber plants that just came up. I can't wait to see the cucumbers that come from the plants.

  9. Hi Calikim and Cg. I absolutley love your seed packaging. As a Matter of fact. I will be planting some of your heat tolerant greens this weekend. Those I have left over I will add to my Seed bag. Which holds 60 different seeds. I did find my Diva Cucumber seeds and will be plant some of those this weekend. Thanks for another wonderful VIdeo. Even though my garden is small Only 12'x12'. You keep me growing and excited about what to put in Next. So far this year I have harvested Romaine Lettuce, Bell Peppers, roma tomatoes, yellow pear tomatoes and a couple of jalapenos. Not to mention the Cilantro I grew in my hydroponic unit. Thanks again your a real inspiration.

  10. .I got lucky this year with tomatoes. In the spring I noticed that some tomatoes were popping up in containers that I hadn't planted. So I have been getting a nice tomato harvest so far from them giving me time to get the tomato plants I started indoors to grow. I think it might have been a combination of things: some tomato plants I started last year that decided to wait a year to germinate and the birds who decided they liked some of my tomatoes from last year and inadvertently spread the seeds to my other containers. Also, I think something got in my compost. Don't know how but maybe some tomatoes that went bad in the fridge last year and I put in my compost? These are popping up in my first Greensstalk planter that I bought this year. Whatever the case, I look at it as a blessing.

I will be looking at this video again and taking notes because there are a lot of good tips and information.
