oh my goodness look at this can they see it hey everybody it’s the ginger Optimus and I am at Five Arrows Homestead with my friend Lisa and the interrupting chicken and we’re going to feed the chickens and look and see if there’s some farm fresh eggs because I’m going to make some oatmeal for our breakfast tomorrow and a special oatmeal bake that I’m not going to show on this video but that video is coming soon just wanted you to meet Lisa and see her Homestead and check out her Channel at fber Homestead I’ll leave a link down below so let’s check out these chickens Daisy got to move we’re just going to give them some scraps things that I would normally throw away there you go girls and boys they are so happy some we come over here to check for eggs right yep we’re going to go in that shed door we’ got a few in here I checked this morning so there’s not that many but well not that many compared to what we normally get what do you average a day um we just got a few more birds from my friends um at Campbell Homestead company so um we’re oh gosh I picked up 12 this morning and you’ve got uh 2 four 68 n Wow Let’s see if we can see those they’re so pretty and they’re so clean that’s amazing how clean they are they’re not always that clean of course we’ll still wash them yes all right so show me your garden oh look at your new puppy there’s Daisy hi Daisy look at guys look at these Paws wow those things are huge he’s going to she’s going to be so big and such a little lover she’s a Pyrenees and aolan Shepherd mix so big big dog so what got you started in gardening like this the homestead um I have always loved gardening even back when I lived in Florida and just didn’t have the ability to Garden the way that I would like to um we lived really close to the ocean so Salt Air was always a big problem yeah they uh made uh the plants suffer and uh the Salt Air did and uh so as soon as we came to Georgia we’re like great we have space and even now we we don’t have as much space as I would love um because we have a sunlight issue in our yard we have a lot of very tall trees as you can see here in this background very very tall trees so that we pick the sunniest part in our yard and created these raed bed gardens and um we’re just trying to be as self-sufficient as we can grow our own food 2020 hit hard and we want um food Independence so interesting fact one of my most popular in fact I think it is my most popular video on the ginger Optimist is my shampoo bar and Lisa you are the one who got me started in soaping did I I forgot about that yeah yeah in fact whenever I would see her cuz I live in Central Florida you would bring me ocean water so that I could make my shampoo bars I forgot about that yeah all right let’s check out your garden all right so this is the strawberry beds we um it’s mostly gone for the season there’s a few more little ones that are popping up around here and we have some spinach at the end of the bed what kind of tomatoes are these those are Tomos oh Tom teos yeah you can feel can you feel that it’s like a little bag yeah but it’s Hollow and you know they’re ready when the bag feels full they grow to the size of their little bag wow I wish you here feel this one you can feel this one’s closer to being ready wow yeah yeah that’s hard you can feel the hardness yeah I have made ttia salsa I in fact I think I have a video making it but I never knew how they grew that that is so cool yeah they come with their own wrapping I love it so will you make green salsa oh yeah definitely I’m very excited for that but this is already shaping to be my best tomato year yet I probably have as many tomatoes on these branches here than I had my entirety of last year so very cool oh that one’s blushing a blushing tomato this is mostly okra over here okra with some radishes and carrots interspersed in there nice a few peppers and beans on the end of this bed there’s an eggplant flower that’s so cool here’s the jalapenos these are red noodle beans and I don’t know if you can see but they will get like like this long oh wow they they come and this is really fun when you have a bunch of them growing cuz there’s like these long noodles hanging down that is so cool yeah yeah is there anything else interesting growing down here um these beds have been struggling this is a lot of cucumbers coming up the center up here um and some squashes on the sides I see some fresh basil basil there’s some basil sprinkled around all over and then this end bed is one that I interplanted um really well I did I have a video on this one um this one has okra it has blackeyed peas it has cucumbers it has Zia flowers mersum flowers and long pie pumpkins nice nice fun well thank you so much for showing me your homestead and I
