Fiddle Leaf Fig

Don’t know what to do

Have had this bad boy for a few years now but not happy with how wide it’s become for this area. Could I cut off those branches and plant them as new plants? Any advice would be appreciated.

Chopping the branches is the only way to make the plant more compact, so I would say yes. Check the branches carefully to cut between nodes, and use a clean, sharp instrument. Be aware the new growth will come from the nodes at the ends of the branches, so cut above a node facing a direction you like. I would do one branch at a time and give the plant a few weeks to recover and show new growth before cutting another. You can also pinch the new growth at the ends to try to force growth out of nodes closer to the trunk for a bushier plant.
