We moved in a couple of years ago. We have 2 sets of pine trees, the first two between our garages and the second two are along the fence line to my neighbor's pool. Pictures of each for reference.
I was told when we moved in the trees between our garages were diseased. I had someone come out to give us a quote and he said they were super healthy trees.
Today, my neighbor talked to me about the set along the fence line. He said the pines were messy and getting little pinecones and buds in his pool and he is worried about the roots impacting the pool liner.
I love the trees, but I also don't want to have to pay for my neighbors new garage or pool. I offered to trim the branches that reach over the fence closer to the fall. Should I be seriously considering removing any of these trees?

Don’t remove unless you want to, or are compelled by your municipality. The neighbors are usually allowed to trim a line straight up along the property line, but they may not go over it, and may be responsible if their actions cause the tree to die. Check with your city for guidelines.
Don’t listen to your neighbor
Your neighbor is an asshole! That’s about it
Lovely as they are
Structure looks good from pictures supplied. I wouldn’t worry.
I know the feels of having to do 3x more maintenance from having adjacent trees to my pool, but i also love trees. Since this would be a loss to you, offer to share the cost of replacement with them. Id go something like yucca or juniper
Depending on your area, you may have some liability for any impact the roots have on your neighbour’s pool infrastructure (not pinecones/needles, but like if the roots break into the pool), but that seems to vary WIDELY, so consult a local lawyer.
My neighbor has a birch tree. It is beyond messy, but beautiful. Tell your neighbor to suck it up.
Also, the neighbor might just cut what hangs over the property line and seriously hurt the trees. I’d try to keep them tidy so the lines of communication aren’t closed and you can truly say you’re doing something to address the concerns.
They’re perfect trees, don’t worry about them. Neither should your neighbor
Maybe they should have considered the trees when they positioned the pool… sounds very much like a ‘their problem.’
I may be biased since pine trees don’t naturally occur where I come from, but I’m not crazy about them; they are indeed quite messy and make the soil too acidic. I can sympathise with your neighbour to some extent.
I would plant more trees.
The trees were there before you moved in, and there were there before he built that tiny suburban pool.
