Plant Propagation

ISO Successful advice please!!!! ๐Ÿ˜

I got this rather large cutting today randomly from the zoo groundskeeper. I threw in water right away and started to research how Iโ€™m going to go about propping this weeping tree limb, and so far Iโ€™ve come up with a hodgepodge method of air layering while I keep it alive in water and hydrogen peroxide (itโ€™s how I propped my rubber trees lol) unfortunately Iโ€™m getting conflicting info online and Iโ€™m a little newb with trees and airlayering. I really want this to workโ€ฆ so I thought I should ask if anyone has any suggestions via their own experience with this kind of species?! Thanks yโ€™all!

Best bet is probably to cut it into a series of 6-8 inch sections about pencil width or wider, pull off all leaves except for maybe one little leaf from each cutting. Dip the bottom of the cutting in rooting hormone and bury it in soil.

Iโ€™ve been reading you should bury most of the cutting, like 4-5 inches of it, in the soil. It might send out leaves but that doesnโ€™t necessarily mean it put out roots, so give it a few months before excavating the cuttings and checking for roots.
