Yes absolutely remove it. It is a death trap and I have not found one plant from the store which has no net. I think it comes from raising the plant from seed, and when it is repotted they just repot everything and not bother about the nets because the roots get through it. But on the long run they suffocate

I always do. Carefully. If there’s minimal roots growing out of it that’s easier. But I always remove it anyway
