Just got my first dahlia bloom ever, but it has definitely been snacked on by something 😒 Hoping someone who knows more can tell me what likely did this and the best way to prevent it from happening to the rest of my flowers!

Looks like earwig damage to me. They’re a-holes. I started using sluggo plus recently; I have heard great things!
