Composting

A bit of a yarn about composting

G'day lads and lasses,

I've recently started composting to use in my garden come spring (it's currently winter here), and I've been at it for about a month. I add to it every couple of days and have really been enjoying it as a hobby. I think my bin is 240 liters; someone gave it to me as a gift.

Long story short, my compost stank, so I added more browns. Inside my compost bin are vegetable scraps, heaps of bananas, and lots of grass clippings, which have made it super moist. No need to add any more liquid since it's already quite wet.

I'm thinking of setting up a 3-bay system so I can get more mass to properly hot compost. Right now, I'm trying to hot compost in my bin, but it's not big enough. I got it to 50 degrees Celsius (not sure what that is in Fahrenheit). I know I need patience and want my compost to be a bit drier so I can finally add my nutrients by "watering" it. I'm keen to wee in it and help it along.

Have a look at my detailed pictures and judge me to your heart's content!

Cheers!
