Euphorbiaceae

Any idea what’s going on with my Cow’s Horn?

I got this awesome cow horn last year but am brand new to this species. It has grown about 4 inches since I got it. I’m wondering why both the lowest stems have shriveled up and dried and died off. It is still in the same pot and soil mix that it was sold to me in (by a plant vendor at a local festival) – it’s a soil mix on bottom with rocks on top. I move it inside once temperatures drop below 50F, keep in a full sun spot, and then move it outside into direct sun for the summer. In summer I don’t water it bc it catches the rainfall every few weeks. Is it okay? Any ideas what i need to do? Thanks yall

I believe this is Euphorbia tortilis, not E. grandicornis (cow’s horn).

Also it looks generally good and you’re doing a good job with it, I would just cut the dried portion off and keep on growing!
