Grafting Plants

Should I cut pups in order to make one big head?

The current situation with most of my ariocarpus grafts is that they produce many pups/quimeric tissue near the unión and I have noticed that It slows down the growth of the main head.My objetive being to produce a mother plant that flowers instead of pups, would It be reasonable to cut this tissue/pups?

I’m so jealous, you have so many variety of areos

Yes if you want to focus more on looks definitely remove some of the heads

if they form clumps with uniform heads like that one picture, better to re graft it to a wider root stock like myrtillo or something wider

if you live in a tropical weather leaving it on a peres is fine. I have an areo that has been grafted in a pere for almost 4 years now and still healthy

My god you got some nice work going on here. I’m working my way there but with trichocereus as a rootstock
