Plant Identification

Local grocery store had these as buy-one-get-one. What did I just buy my wife?

Atlanta, Georgia, picked these up at my local grocery store. Should I be worried about the white spots on the leaves that look like hard water spots?

It is a rubber tree, burgundy. Part shade. In three years it will be 8ft tall. The white spots are indeed just water spots/salts.

Yeah Publix had a good sale on their potted plants this weekend.

They are an interesting house plant. In zones 9B and 10, they are sometimes planted in people’s yards which could be a major concern in time.

They can grow to great heights and then have massive root systems. So even in warmer climates I would keep them in pots. It is not unusual for them to grow to 6’ indoors.
