The two boots were full of them. There is no tree nearby with them. There are shaped a bit like avocado and smell like guava. I tried opening one with a nutcracker and it seems like some kind of nuts. Any idea what that is?

  2. Look like English walnuts. It’s a process to get to the nuts. We have tree in the yard down here in Hudson valley NY. Squirrels love them.

Looks like Butternut to me. Oblong fruit is the dead giveaway- black and English walnut have round fruit

Hickory of some sort, i would say. break one open, and you’ll know if it’s a hickoy or a walnut.

To me they look like Fejoias. But I believe they’re native to Australia. (They’re delicious)
