What are the skinny growths?

My string of turtles is putting out a bunch of these long skinny things. What are they? Should I remove them?

I water the plant once a week. It’s in a north facing window

Thank you for posting to r/plantclinic!

It looks like you may be asking about a cactus or succulent. In addition to any advice you receive here, please consider visiting r/cactus r/succulents for more specialized care advice.

A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.

  2. Typical _Peperomia_ flowers. Some people remove them, reasoning it takes “energy” from the plant.

Those are just flowers if it. Nothing to be afraid of

Flowers for sure. I leave some because they are kinda cute. But if there’s a lot I figure it’s going to spend too much energy going to seed than growing new leaves and I trim them off. Also once mature enough the seeds pop off the flower stems and scatter! The first time it happened I freaked out wondering what all the little black things were all over the plant and table. Thought it was a pest invasion lol!
