They’re real fussy, drama queen plants lmao. You probably just overwatered it – leave it be in the full sun spot you have for a few days and it should perk back up!

It’s not overwatered. Plants will sometimes droop during hot weather and straighten back up once the weather is cooler. Additional water wouldn’t hurt though, given the size of the plant vs container. Plus it’s flowering. Make sure the soil isn’t overly compact and that the plant is actually absorbing the water.

Overwatering issues are not something short-term, so if you only got it yesterday, no amount of overwatering could lead to root rot/suffication so fast.

Check the root system. Sometimes direct sun plus heat wave can cook the roots on the pot. Making difficult for the plant to uptake water.

To be honest I don’t know without seeing your compost but if you did, and it is stressed then full sun is a bit much. Put in slightly shady position u too it recovers. Don’t cook it after drowning it.

Where was it located when you purchased it? How much sun was it getting? I wonder if heat + full sun on concrete is stressing it out. It may be too harsh

This looks like tropical milkweed, which is really harmful for monarch butterflies and is not native to the US.

To answer your question, no you didn’t. You are under watering. Nursery pots are not meant to be permanent. By the time you’re buying the plant, the pot is already too small.

It’s either underwatered or doesn’t like the heat or that container is way too hot, or your plant has a virus of some sort

Move it in the shade and see if it perks up.

If that doesn’t work then it’s probably underwatered. Stick your finger in the medium and/or lift the pot to figure out moisture levels.

What I’m thinking is you didn’t water it deeply and it’s only moist on the surface.
