May ’24 Backyard Zone 8B Garden Tour & A Rose Disappointment I Wasn’t Expecting

Heyyyyyy, garden friends!!!

The rain let up long enough for me to get outside and give you a quick tour of all of the things that are happening around the backyard this month.

I’m breaking the garden tour up into two parts, we’ll do the backyard today and then when the rain stops hopefully tomorrow, I’ll record the front and post it while we’re out of town enjoying the Carribean.

We’ve taken on so many projects between February and now, and I’m so excited to see how everything is coming together.

I also share a huge disappointment that caught me completely off guard with one of my roses, but despite it all, I’m still very proud of where we are so far.

So grab your favorite drink, today’s tour is going to be a long one and be sure to let me know what you think down in the comments!

Happy gardening my friends!!!!

  1. Your garden is beautiful. I got my inspiration from the flower bed near your deck. Your plants will thrive as you continue to add new mulch each year, which will enrich your soil. Thank you for the tour.

  2. I’ve been rock hounding for my garden rocks. Also Facebook marketplace has been a good resource. Your rock borders are gorgeous!

  3. Roses are heavy feeders. Every 3-4 months is good. Bayer products and rose tone are good options and Bayer has feed with black spot control combined. Roses are fine in heat and full sun and you will get the best blooms in full sun. Your garden is beautiful by the way.

  4. This is a peaceful space, and I am very impressed! What soil and fertilizer do you use for your raised beds please, and thanks?
