Thank you for posting to r/plantclinic!

It looks like you may be asking about a cactus or succulent. In addition to any advice you receive here, please consider visiting r/cactus r/succulents for more specialized care advice.

A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.

I have tried watering it not to much. Giving it shade since I live in Nevada and it’s scorching outside but I don’t know what else to do. 😭

Repot into cactus soil, a soil with bigger chunks that drains well. The middle part is dead. You need to cut of the top and plant it seperately.

Cut of the dead part completely to repot the top Portion.
Let the lower part regrow from what its left.

If you feel like it and both parts survive you could try regrafting it.

You can search the Web for how to make soil for cacti.

That soil looks unsuitable. The middle part is dead. Beat course of action would be to cut off the top, propagate it and keep the bottom also. Looks for a well draining cactus soil.

  5. That’s two different plants. The red plant killed the green one, now it’s dying because it needed the green one to survive. Aka failed graft.
