Am I off to the right start?

I bought home a fiddle leaf fig from Lowes several days ago. I placed her in front of a 9w grow light that is on for 12 hours a day. She's in a plastic cache pot. I noticed the soil feels very compact and moist but I heard that these plants tend to freak out when they've been moved so I've been trying to leave it alone to settle in.

My questions are, is this enough light? And since the soil is still moist after 3-4 days of being home, should I switch out the soil for something wirh better drainage or should I continue to leave it alone?
