Lawn Care

So I bought a house

I just bought a house and 2/3 of the lawn is salvageable, I can go off similar posts on here to fix them but this back yard is a beast in itself. I'm not sure there's any real grass left back here but I'm hoping you guys can help me out from the pictures on what I have and what my best plan of attack is. On top of the weeds there's holes everywhere from dogs and a few more areas I'd like to level, aside from that my short term plan is to keep it maintained well for the year and pull whatever weeds I can to see what I'm left with then hit it with a pre emergent in the spring and if it's worth it even overseed this fall to get a bit of what I want in there to compete with the weeds. I'm new to this and my first project looks like an everest so I'm looking forward to the advice, I'm also not entirely against nuking but I'll put in the time and effort for alternatives if you guys think it's possible

Bro… that’s a shed not a small house. I think you got conned.

First thing is to cut it down short. It’ll make a world a difference.

If you’re really tryna get it pristine, do a soil test before making any amendments. Most would choose to nuke and resod, but you’d be surprised how easy it’ll be to get good-looking grass going with little effort.
