Plant and gardening ideas

Hi all, I've been working hard over the last 2 years to transform our garden – it used to be completely unmanageable and essentially just filled with Holden cane palms.

I'm at a bit of a loss so I was hoping people might have some suggestions for these 2 areas in the backyard.

The first is for some plants that could go on top of this rock wall, ideally that will hide the fence. There's probably about 30cm of space, it is difficult to plant because of the rocks and there used to be ornamental ginger. What's pictured at the moment is mostly weeds.

The second is some plants to fill out this garden bed. It is hard to dig because it previously had palms. I will be adding mulch.

At the moment there's grevilleas, rice flower, westringa, yellow buttons, silver falls, broad leafed lilly pillies. I know they will all grow, they've just been planted a couple months ago and it's winter. It just feels like it's missing something.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The first area could probably be solved with a climber such as passionfruit. You’ll need a trellis of some sort.

The second are just more plants, particularly ground covers. If you have to remove some later that’s better than dead space between.

First area I’d clean out a bit, add in some good compost and put in a climber vine and a tresstle or latice for it yo climb up and one or two trailing ground covers to grown down over the rocks.

Second area I’d maybe put in one or two more plants along with some ground covers and a fresh layer of mulch to neaten things up.
