Lawn Care

Most cost effective way to kill post emerging Creeping Charlie???

Lawn care experts! As you can see our lawn has been heavily infested with Creeping Charlie (or something else?) I got Tenacity but not sure if it’s the most effective solution. Located in Northwest Chicago burb. Thanks!!!

Anything with Triclopyr in it! Just make sure you buy concentrated (not buying concentrated is a waste of money) and a pump sprayer. Follow the directions for diluting, make sure it’s not above 85F outside, and start spraying! Also follow directions on how much 1gal should be sprayed over a certain amount of area. Your lawn may look a bit brown afterwards but with some water and love it’ll bounce back after a week or two!

I’ve got Charlie as well and its a huge pain, located in Canada so I don’t think I have access to the ‘best’ treatments. Following along here for more info

Escort XP (MSM) and 2,4-D works really well and is safe for grazing animals. It’s a lot cheaper than triclopyr.

Are you doing a box pattern? I thought for a second you were mowing horizontal and your neighbor was vertical, but the fence line suggests a box pattern?

Assuming I understand correctly… why must you do a box pattern?

I used Weed B Gone from Home Depot that contains 2-4D and it wiped out Charlie almost immediately. I did have to reapply about 3 weeks later. It’s all gone now and worked well.

    SpeedZone. Follow the instructions exactly.
