Removed 8 inches of soil to expose root flare

With the help of this sub, I removed about eight inches of soil to expose the root flare on my young live oak tree that was planted too deep.

We have clay soil here, so I also removed a few feet of the surrounding soil so the water doesn't pool and drown the flare when it rains. We do have hard clay soil here in central Texas, so when it rains the water does pool near the drip line of the tree, but drains after a few hours.

Will this cause any weird growth patterns or issues for the tree? Obviously it would be best if it was planted properly to begin with, but the tree was just transplanted and I don't want to give it any more stress.

Pictures attached. Thanks!
